LOTSW Herald

This is one of the Heralds used in Last of the Summer Wine on BBC TV, registered WYO 626 H. It was purchased from the BBC by a local member, passed on to another member but in very poor condition so it came to me for £200 back around 2002. At that time I was moonlighting with a Belfast Hyundai Dealership that used to be a Triumph Showroom, and they decided they wanted it for their showroom. It was stripped to a bare shell, taken off for a full restoration and two-pack professional respray, and came back to me looking brand new. I refitted all the running gear, engine and gearbox, and then discovered that the bodyshop had repaired it with no idea of how it should look, with the front wings fitted completely wrong so that the panel gaps and trim would never fit. It sat with me for another five years until it was removed to a shed where it probably still lies. The showroom has now been demolished and I assume there is no longer any use for it.
