Hello All

Here we go again off on another jolly in Spitty(We should have been going on a rail trip via France,Spain to Morocco but it was cancelled while we were on the Italian trip)

We thought about a cheap and cheerful to the sun but Turkey had coup and just been to Italy and Spain last year so we have been promising ourselves to Ireland for YEARS.

So that was it I found a deal with Stena line crossing Holyhead /Dublin 2 nights hotel and back from Rosslare/Fishguard we worked out a rough plan and booked the digs.

I do not suppose it will be as sunny as Italy?

This where we are going I will attempt to do blog thing again(might not get the sunny photos?)

Hello All

We are on our way and loaded on the ferry and underway.

We had a good run up except we have a noisy u/j on the nearside ( I did not hear it before but this is the first time we have had the hood up in 4000 miles!)

I have a spare but do not want to fit it! So fingers crossed and drive steady?

We have 2 nights in Dublin and weather forcast is ok for tomorrow.

Then off to Athlone.

Glad to see you're out and about blogging again! You're not the only Triumph driver currently making the most of foreign climes - I passed a very nice looking French registered Dolly Sprint on the M25 yesterday!

Look forward to hearing all about it

Hello ALL

We found our hotel eventually as O'Connell is dug up and believe it or not it was hood down and roasting and manic rush hour!!!!

After a rest we went out and sampled some Guinness pie and mash and a pint of the Liffey water and found some live Irish music

Off sight seeing today

I think I have cured the u/j take the hood down and we can not hear it!

Hello All

We are now in An Spideal

We left Athlone and went across country to Tuam and Cong and around Loch Coirib

It was another day with hood down(just the odd light shower) but not hood weather!

I think it will be hood up tomorrow morning at least as a storm and Gale force winds the weather man says!!!!!!

Off out to eat and we have clocked a pub that has traditional music from 9.30 (we got locked in a pub in Athlone last night and left at 12.30!)after seeing 5 lots of singers/duo,s

This will be the 4th night of live music (Heaven)

We have so many nice compliments about Spitty and let a Spanish couple sit in and have photos taken and a small lad (it makes you feel good) it started just after we got off the ferry in Dublin man a sharp suite and an Audi said nice car! And then a lad on a motorcycle in the traffic said the same and what is it(thought about Fart rarri!)

The last photo was on the pub wall last night and the gaffer said it looked if it was taken by the old bridge in A thlone but he did not know when (sorry about quality but it was under a reddish mood light?)

Enough of this culture! Tell us about the black stuff, Is it as good as they say?

I am not a Guinness drinker at home neither is the wife but it seems to be going down very well if a bit expensive.

I think we will driving a Gale today so don't know how much of the Galway coast we will see?

Hello to who is not bored

We left Kilrush this morning a caught the 10am ferry across the Shannon

In fine weather and made our way down to Tralle.

We the followed the Wild Atlantic Coast road on the dingle penisular(and O boy did it live up to its name!!!!)

We went through Coners Pass stopped at the top I was nearly blown over (not kidding!)

Then the catastrophe happened! My nice leather hat was blown off never to be seen again (was like losing an old friend! Its been to Spa,Le Mans, Spain and Italy)

We are now at Killorglin in a very nice Hotel

750 miles covered now

We did manage to drive all day with the hood down much to other peoples amusement or astonishment?

Hello from Sunny Ireland

I was lying!

We seen to have booked into a bit of a doss house?

All there was for breakfast was porridge? (made with cream and served with fresh fruit, honey and a small tot of Bailey's

Plus all the cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses, juice various,cake(4types),scones,croissants and any cooked breakfast you want (irish, salmon and eggs, open toasted sandwich topped with cheese) etc and fresh coffee.

The a hardest part was deciding what to have!

I think it will be hood up today (for first part at least)

Found a pub with 8 locals playing last night and some locals doing their own songs (wonderful)
