  3. Ahh, yes. Looks like I need the exhaust mounting bracket which it says is no longer available. Will have to try and make something suitable. Temp repair now in place and continues to seal after car driven about 20 miles. I think I may need to take it out again later, just to be sure it's ok 🤔

  4. I decided to strip mine down and restore with less rust than that. It does beggar belief what some people think classics are worth.🙄

  7. Yikes!! I was giving it a bit of hope until I saw the hood frame... then the engine bay..... then the carpets... and the bottom of the wings. Makes mine look positive and it cost me a third of that. "Needs small weld to roof frame and new roof. Also needs new exhaust down pipe. Some rust as pictured - all cosmetic and fixable. Priced to reflect this."

    SU fuel pump

I successfully mated the top half of a new metal-top pump (new, as in I bought it 7 years ago) onto the lower half of my old glass-top AC Delco one at the weekend - dimensions where they meet are identical and no problems at all with leaks or fuel pressure. I'd surmised they should be compatible as the diaphragms are the same. Gully

  12. Should be a Mayflower around the south somewhere as my mate last year shipped one back to his brother in law from here in Melbourne. It was another deceased members car and was very tidy except the wood dash was a little bleached. Interesting before shipping we had to rebuild and refit both the engine and gearbox as the previous owner had fitted a Datsun 1200 engine and auto box! It was shipped with enough spares to nearly build a new car!

  13. Beautiful drilling job there Ed, did you cross drill the trunnion and fit a grease nipple, also plenty of copper grease on the tie rod bolt, mine are solid!!!

  14. You may have to resort to drilling. The radius arm bolt is trickier because It's pretty long. http://bullfire.net/GT6/GT6-9/GT6-9.html Ed

  15. Sounds like the best use of it. Should be great in a 1200. 948 ratios might be an irritant, 1200 gearing is short enough as it is.
