Look forward to hearing about the G15 project John BW Aaron

Yes type 14 callipers, I think the passenger side is a machined one and the drivers side is un machined. Thanks Pete

Tried fitted replacement callipers today. Frustrating experience, passenger side casting is to wide on the mounting lug, so decided to try the driver side, mounting lugs better, but now the calliper is touching the back of the hub and it won't turn. Old calliper looks to have been ground back a bit to give clearance. So I'm back where I stated. Does anyone know is the hub's are different sizes on the heralds I think we are only talking a couple of mm. As for the casting issue I would rather not grind back a new item, so considering taking it back, is this a known problem? Thanks in advance Aaron

wow this is an excellent trip, only just picked it up Aaron

Well done, I am so please to see you car finished, I hope to see it at one of the shows in the future. In my opinion this is one of the best blogs about building a car I have read. Whilst I'm pleased you have completed it, I will miss the progress updates. I hope you have lots of fun with her. Aaron

Wow, that looks amazing John.

John, I know I have said this before, but this is still my favourite thread on the forum. Excellent build, I look forward to seeing the gt4 in her new paint. Bw Aaron

I agree we with Tom. John there was never a aluminium shelled gt6 with a spitfire engine before was there? :-) Stick to your guns and call it what you think it should be called. It's a one of a kind, a bonnett special.

Hi John, Wouldn't changing the colour now, mean you have to repaint all the underneath etc ? A very shiny silver would look cool, but I have grown to like the idea of the GT4 lightweight in French Blue, maybe with a very thin pin stripe. if you wanted to keep it in Aluminium could you just polish it and then have it clear coated in a lacquer to protect it? Hi Steve, I asked how much the longer peaks would cost, this was the response I got. "Aaron this is an issue its all down to getting the mold made then these can be made in brass I would say before chroming £100 each then add on the chroming then £150 put this is down to the mold issue" there are some picture in of them on the triumph valuations page on facebook https://www.facebook.com/triumphvaluations?fref=ts I have taken some of the pictures off the valuation site so you can see. I think it will look cool in blue too. Re: the number plate on the front, is this so you can get it MOT'd and then you will get it painted? I know this is not a final solution, but would a fibre glass inner wheel arch work or something like we have on modern cars, to give you the additional bit at the front of the wheel arch, it could be a bit naff, but might be a short cut.......... Aaron

John that looks just awesome. Are you sure you want to paint her ;-) Just polish to a high shine a La lotus de le mans :-)
