  1. "The thing about GL5 oils attacking yellow metals is based on out of date information." Opie Oils <sales@opieoils.co.uk> Ask them as they sell oil.
  2. It's out of date stuff. if it's online it's true. LOL
  3. Take the chance with what? Today, GL5 does not attack yellow metals. (Despite what TSSC says!). Ask any reputable supplier of oil.
  4. No it is not today. Hence my Bump. GL5 & yellow metals is a Myth.
  5. Bump. Pete, now this it not true about GL5 eating yellow metals. Please confirm. Cheers, Iain.

  7. Hi Kevin, you clearly have no/Zero Idea what a forum is or means. What post of mine are you referring to? On this Forum? Cheers, Iain.
  8. Hi, My weekend search found nothing. Seems to be good for tractors? Maybe TSSC should spend less time deleting posts they don't personally like & supply information on stuff they promote? Not holding my breath. I would avoid the 20W50 oil that TSSC promotes, as without specs it could be garbage & probably is. Cheers, Iain. PS. Screenshotting this before it disappears. 😁
  9. Hi Pete, What is This shop oil: " ........... Pennine and you get heritage @ £20 "? I can find no data on this oil so difficult to compare. Cheers, Iain.
  10. Hi, If you are burning or leaking it why not? Low detergent oil is good for old filter systems. It's a 60 year oil blend that is classed as obsolete today. It's not a good oil. Far better out there. Cheers, Iain.
  11. Hi Wagger, Snip //************************************** If we could machine our classics to the same tolerances as moderns, maybe we could use new oils. //************************************* Snip. After working for the Largest supplier of Crank/Cam grinding machines in the world I know this statement is incorrect. Why would you say this? What do you mean by "new oils"? Cheers, Iain.
  12. Hi, I had used sunflower oil in my clutch hydraulics for nearly two years with no problem. Vegetable oil was/is a choice for high performance engines. Not for me when inexpensive synthetic oils are available that surpass the recommended Kak of the day. Only a fool would use Sunflower oil in the engine. What is your point BadWolf? Cheers, Iain.
  13. Opinion. Still people buy high priced obsolete spec oil as pushed by some people on here. ZDDP myths as well. LOL. 🤣. A sicky would be a good idea to stop the spread of Bull kak by some members. Understanding of the PRV would help? Cheers, Iain.
  14. Hi, too thick & poor flow until up to operating temperature. A lot of 20W50 oils are overpriced group 1 & 2 oils. Loads of reasons. Best to start a new thread on this as not been one for a while. Cheers, Iain.🤐
  15. Hi, Fit an oil pressure Gauge. Or keep guessing? Cheers, Iain. PS. Stop using 20W50. LOL.
  16. Hi, Larger than 22mm offset is easy corrected with wheel spacers. 39mm ET would be corrected with a 17mm spacer for example. if a loss of 17mm stud thread was safe. Adjusting the camber on the front would also put the scrub radius where OEM put it. Might cause other dynamic problems though! Cheers, Iain
  17. Hi, Ideally, what is required for an oil pressure light is two signals: Engine RPM & oil pressure. (Oil temperature as an addition variable would be an advantage). I'm implementing such with the three variables on my car in the near future via a PLC. Cheers, Iain.
  18. 063 210L x 175W x 175H 075 242L x 175W x 175H 027 242L x 175W x 190H Hi, All the above fit a 1500. 063 is a bit skinny and generally lower CCA & Ah. 075 fits good and normally Higher CCA & Ah than a 063. 027 fits good, 15mm taller and potentially Higher CCA & Ah than the rest. (Sometimes 075 internals are fitted in 027 cases Battery weight will confirm this) I have a 027. 60Ah & 680 CCA. AGM Stop Start type: Best & lowest internal resistance available. (0.0048 Ohm internal resistance) for £80. Added bonus is voltage slightly higher than conventional. Cheers, Iain.
  19. Hi, The Ignitor 1 has less output energy than correctly setup points. Their website is very misleading concerning energy. "Powerful micro controller" Really? Maybe they mean the MC3334? The MC3334 is NOT a Micro. Cheers, Iain.
  20. Mathew, I will remove and refit the handle 90 degrees offset and try again. It will be better or it will not lock in place. Thanks, Iain
  21. Thank you Mathew, Snapped screw is the reason I am at this stage. Another question: I seem to have lost the "it's closed" feeling when top is closed. Could I be 90 degrees out with my handles? Cheers, Iain.
  22. Hi, Is this picture showing the correct order of parts? Cheers, Iain
