  1. Hi Peter H Good to see you are getting out and about, the GT6 you have photo of is one of North Yorkshire members, we meet around the York area and this month we held a meeting in Pickering but could hold meetings in the east of Yorkshire if we get enough members interested so please let me know. Keith (North Yorkshire Area Organiser)
  2. Right, after all the negative replies we will leave this one, I have had articles on my TR three times as well as on Bangers and cash and all went well but it can definitely have its downside so best that I withdraw this request. Keith
  3. Hi All I have been asked if I know of any one with a Blue Spitfire in the Leeds / Bradford area that can be used for filming? If you own one or know of any please let me know and I will let you have more details. Keith (North York’s AO)
  4. Thanks that is quick service, sounds right with the measurements of the foam. Cheers Keith
  5. Hi Can anyone help with the width of the back rest for a Mk4 spitfire seat 30 years ago I built a JC Midge narrow car so I cut a section out of the seat frame bought new foams and had covers made to suit, unfortunately did not make a note of how much. Now I have bought new foams due to them turning to dust so need to cut the foams to suit, I think it may be 1 1/4” the photo below shows just over 16” so if any one has a seat they could measure I would be most grateful. Keith

  8. Hi Shephenelan I have just taken over area organiser for North York’s but the West Yorkshire group are very good so worth contacting Alan, we the North York’s are meeting up at the Motorist on the second Wednesday of each month between 6pm to 9pm a very informal get together I also have a 72 six in Green which I have owned for thirty eight years so would be good to meet up. The Motorist is located on the Cawood road from Sherburn in Elmet so not far from Leeds. Hope you enjoy the six as much as I do. Keith
  9. Hi Peter I am taking over the AO position for North York’s group so as soon as we have the all clear with restrictions and I have a mailing list will let you know when we will be starting meetings again and location. I have contacted a few members that I know and we plan on meeting up at the Motorist (Sherburn in Elmet) on the second Wednesday of the month between 5pm and 9pm, this is open to all car clubs so should be a good turnout. Keith

  11. Hi All I have a Spitfire Mk 4 with a single brake line master cylinder and was thinking about changing it to a twin one from a later 1500 one, not sure if the retaining bracket is the same? As the previous posts on master cylinders they are many types so would use the most common one. Thanks for the help Keith

Hi Nigel Yes I have a second breather like you suggested in your post so should be good on that side, I have just got the PAS kit from CCD so while I was draining the system thought I would do the head at same time, will be using the Reinzosil as you suggested so thanks. Keith

  14. Hi I have been using Evans coolant in the TR6 this year I have found that normal use the temperature gauge stays in the usually position but hit traffic jams it goes up just under the red and even with two electric fans stays in the same position until on the move, past years one fan would bring it down so after one years trial and silly cost will be going back to water and antifreeze. Keith
  15. Doug Thanks for the information, I had it from new it was Zibarted so thought it would have lasted I really took care of it only used it in the summer but that was many years ago, only sold it for the restoration on a TR6 which I still have. Kind regards Keith
  16. Hi Does any one know of the Inca yellow 1500 Spitfire that I owned between 1977 - 1983 I still have the original bill of sale if the new owner wants it. Keith
  17. Hi djn Talking about lumpy running under 2,000 rpm, I had same problem with Cp TR6 Nd so called 150 cam with single throttle body. It is with a cam that has too much overlap so fitted a cam from early 2.5 pl so called 132 cam after rolling road set up pulls from tick over. Keith
