  1. My MK 1 Vitesse 2l has one on the Brake MC.Been there since i bought the car in 1985. Steve
  2. A couple of months ago i removed my old 1986 Triumph-Tune twin box system as i was fed with it keep hitting the ground.I had a single box system custom made from the manifold back with the box sitting up next to the rear boot rigger. Sounds great if you give it a boot full but quiet on a motorway. Manifold is a Mike The Pipe 6-3-1. Steve
  3. Surprised to hear this as i thought he was mainly responsible for the extensive new product lines now available. Is there an official announcement? Steve
  4. I Have Pirelli P4 on my Vitesse and Uniroyal rain experts on my Herald, both good for me.I think i paid about £35-£40 each on Black Circles. Steve
  5. There`s one above the oil filter housing on my 2.5 which dissolved when the block was cleaned,i only realised when oil starting pumping out when cranking the new engine. As said they come in a stick of 8 or 9,i filed two flats either side so i could get a spanner on it then sawed through the stick once fitted and filed flat. S
  6. The carcass is the same,i did the same to my Vitesse which got saloon doors in the eighties when you were still allowed to climb piles of cars in scrapyards(2 perfect doors for £20!),I might be able to get some measurements for you this week from my Herald CV. Steve
  7. Cd 175`s will work but there wont be as many needle options for Strombergs. Steve
  8. I thought the angle of the engine on the 2.5 came from the front plate mountings,i didn`t modify the long `S` manifold on my Vitesse 2.5 but it does have short dashpots from a Sprint. Not sure if that`s relevant to a GT6 though. S
  9. Do they make springs to any requirement?,i want to get my old TT one from 1985 redone as it sits too low now. S
  10. The belt on my Vitesse with a Lucas acr unit is a 1050 if that helps. Steve
  11. See if Andy Cook chimes in,he might know. S
  12. Complete box on e bay at the moment: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-2000-2500-2-5-A-TYPE-OVERDRIVE-GEARBOX-full-working-order-/162336951233?hash=item25cc094bc1:g:9E8AAOSw-0xYZB65 Steve
  13. By the way the title says MK 2 but isnt it a MK 1 2L? i thought i could see the push rod tubes in the engine pic. Steve
  14. Have you tried Wins in Sussex? Bound to have one. Steve
  15. Like the tray arrangement for the master cylinders, lovely car + job. Must go and drive my MK 1 now. S

    Car SOS

Quite like Car SOS,Tim Shaw makes me laugh sometimes. It can be interesting especially when they show things like cold stitching a cracked block. Good programme on channel 4 last night with Philip Glenister and Ant Antstead restoring a 1958 racing Lotus Elite. S
  17. Very high i would have thought,my car runs 10:1 and that was about 180psi when new. Steve
  18. I live in Egham, never used Moto Build other than looking at a MK 1 Lotus Cortina they were selling.(sadly too much money). Deacons in Limes Rd painted and fettled my Herald and Vitesse. No website or anything as its an old style family company in an old forge that's been going for 70 odd years. I,ve seen a Red Herald from Staines and another Blue Vitesse in there in the last week. I would say if you want big money high end work then one of the well knowns is for you.If you want decent work at good prices shop around. Steve
  19. Good old John"Trackerjack" Jackson. S
  20. Its worth trying,i found the first owner of my Vitesse which was in 1969. Now living in Shropshire,I spoke to him on the phone and he was really chuffed it was still on the road.(i bought it in High Wycombe in 1985). Steve
  21. When i converted mine to CV the wheel balance weights were hitting the trunnion housing when rotating. S
  22. I did notice the pins being loose when fitted,i havent noticed any pad chatter yet but i will be doing around a thousand miles in it next weekend for the CT Northern tour so i will report back. Steve
  23. James Paddock normally have a good reputation,i`m sure they will deal with something thats not fit for purpose.. S
  24. I fitted a set to my Vitesse on Saturday and i wasn`t sure why they were in there,i re-used the metal shims from the old pads. Steve
  25. I fitted a Spal 11 inch sucker fan behind the rad on my Vitesse, very thin and works well, you might be able to see it in my avatar, Close but it just clears the crank pulley.its switched by a thermo switch from Rally Design fitted in the top hose with an override switch in the car. Biggest test was crawling up the M6 last August for 6 hours, guage never reads more than 3/4. Steve
