Not aware of any cross brace on the saloon roofs, And a fold back makes a bigger holethan a pop up Just my experience of owning one for 13 years was it was highly useless, anyone sitting in the back were either deafend or the hair do Went vertical, unless all windows were also open . Its nothing likea full convertible It never leaked , you must have run in one before you go for it you may love it ...or not Pete Pete

Ive cut many a roof and fitted a pop up sun roof getting the template accurate is essential or you can get roof crinkles in the corners If the support surround nips the hole. You need one with clamp rim to trap the linning and a trim to cover the inside rim Easy to complete its drilling the first hole for the jigsaw that gets the adrenaline going pop ups give light and ventilation without noise, Webasto styles are very wind noisy without a front spoiler, had one for 13 yrs it was shut more than open

Theres a bolt/screw in the fwd face of the door just below the glass line, There are bolts in the vertical rail with a bracket attached at he lower end , this may need to be removed The whole ndv assy will lift and then curl to get the rail brackets out the door slot. There may be a wire to connect the bottom of the front and rear rails to stop any spread when slamming the door Well something like that Pete

Club shop sell the cv shafts !!!! Pete -
Yes the original design is slacken screw remove keyholed plate , lift cover leaving screws in place a real poor mans quick release idea In the past ive replace with big penny washers and 8mm or 10mm headed acme self tappers, easy to wizz off with a socket in a drill As bulk head think about a long bolt from engine side , hold in place with a thin nut to resemble a stud then just spin a nut on when your In the footwell. pulls the cover up fully to the baulkhead panel without a fight to align any previous holes, if you get the idea Pete

cutting the old floor off and not realising the new floors are only a part pressing with all the Apost area being flat not raised the old had gone before the new arrived , this was remedied by the rules of a jigsaw , a hotch poch of bits and peices to get back to having somewhere to weld the sill and body mount.....chic doig do a sill /Apost repair section..we didnt know about when attempting a record in weld wire useage think body off is the best way forward from here, doesnt take long to lift them off, then you can make a nice squared up chassis and weld the tops of the riggers , the old wonky body may need large packers to seat it correctly far more than you may expect

yes mine was a similar idea the latch used exiting seat belt tappings and gravity made it self latching Pete

I have always ditched the silly rubber seal which will not seal the years of wonky metal and tunnel flanges and bought from places like dunelm cut from a 25mm thick sheet nice wide strips and glued them to the tunnel flanges this takes up and seals up every nook and cranny for good just an alternative idea and cheap !!!

Richard in the manual you will see in mentions the timing(best running postion of the planet teeth) With a clean you will with a sherlock intergity find the planets have a small etched mark on the edge of just one tooth, These MUST be aligned with the etched marks on the carrier or you will get vibration, These marks are poorly made, elusive and hiding dont assume they are not there or this doesnt matter It ensures the three gears all take the same load, Pete

we repaired the carcass bottoms with some cheap angle from BQ the skins were ok but the bottom flange of the cas had suffered

I dont think you would crack the casting , the ally top would give way first , if things like the stat got misplaces from its location recess If the bolt had bottomed I would expect the thread to shear before cracking the main casting. What ever its too late now. Pete

well think thats a unique leak , bit more agressive than corroded surfaces , stripped bolts and threads let us know hw you get on with replacing the hsg. as this can have siezed bolts to make the simple turn difficult Pete

never done one and the WSM is a blank on ths, all suppliers only list one as std , theres no mk1 mk2 issues but this design is it not the top face and the screwed capnut that hold it all in place so the length does not matter its fixed at the top the base well ...floats in free air Pete

you only need a replacement mainshaft to convert your existing box to fit an overdrive to it the shafts prices vary but around 150+ avalable from OD spares and most triumph outlets think its TKC923 then you just need the OD new mounting and plates, harness, relay, and switch to your choice .inhibitor switch and the gearbox remote cam and switch Brkt. and the short propshaft. pete

Think IV and 15 can have a swing spring and longer drive shaft, wider rear track, 1300 is revy and fun 1500 long stroke lots of torque , but can suffer big end wear, dislikes being thrashed Pete
