  1. Thankyou for all the help, I will investigate further as soon as i can
  2. Yes the adjusters are screwed fully home, I did try to take the needles out but they appear to be stuck, so trying to get some ideas before I destroy the needles getting them out
  3. Float valves are not stuck & floats are set at right height ,plugs are black, engine has plenty of compression & doesnt use oil, seems a good engine, mileage doesnt seem to be far out
  4. I have a Spartan with a Mk1 2000 Vitesse engine, car runs great ,but even with normal driving only does 17 - 20mpg, the carb jets are adjusted fully up & I never need choke to start the car, so thinking it must be running rich, could having wrong needles in carb cause this, I have no idea which ones the are , but I think car was raced in the past , so wonder if they have been changed

  8. This only happens occaisionaly when starting the starter seems to try to turn the engine but then won't work at all the solenoid only clicks the battery is good as are all leads & connection including earth, also should the starter have a spacer as mine has but not sure if that is correct
  9. I have a Spartan kit car fitted with a Vitesse mark1 2L engine, not sure what clutch it should have as see some listed for 1600 or Mark 2 2L but not 2L mark 1
