    Diff

  3. Hi Clive I took the UJ apart and there was a roll pin broken into 3 pieces some going given the short length of them. There is also a problem in the diff it is noisy and notchy when you spin it over by hand so I will be looking for a replacement. Luckily I have 2 days off at the end of the week so all being well I can get it back on the road. Thanks to everyone for the advice I will let you know how I get on.
  4. I just looked in my wallet (which will be a little lighter soon!) and noticed the next club night was next week so there is a possibility I will be there finger crossed.
  5. That's the problem Colin it didn't need work it WAS in very good condition but not it is sitting in the garage with its backside in the air minus it's wheels and my girlfriend is asking what are we going to go to car shows in now!
  6. Thanks Clive I will look into them
  7. It is making some horrible noises. Coming out of Enfield show last bank holiday weekend the diff bottomed out on a speed hump due to an aftermarket period handling kit. Then I dropped of my girlfriend when to put the car beck in the garage and the very same handling kit hit one of the security metal posts that was in the dropped position! If I could figure out how to add a video I would I have posted in on the Facebook Vitesse page and I have had some useful advice a couple suggesting it might be UJ'S rather than diff. One of the UJ'S is grunchy but the diff is also making noise. Sorry Pete I won't be able to make this evenings meeting.
  8. Hi all Can anyone suggest a diff specialist in the North London/Hertfordshire area? Many thanks Jason
  9. Well Pete all I can say is I don't get much time to attend the club nights but you have helped me so much with my car I kno all the work that goes into keeping a club running as I run an engineering one myself and I think you deserve it.

    My Car

  11. Hi all I have been having problems with the fuel getting to the carbs in my Vitesse Estate (many thanks to Peter Lewis for help and advise so far). I went to buy some replacement hose from the fuel pump to carbs today and I was told these should be in copper and not rubber as they are on my car does this really matter and what are the pros & cons of each rubber and copper? If it matters it is Stromberg CD150 carbs and the fuel pump is the screw in type rather then the push on pipe if it has any relevance. Many thanks Jason
