  1. That's the same part Pete but the base is also needed does yours come apart easily? And do you have a separate ring at all? Aidan
  2. Pete Can you tell from the picture? Or do you want me to take some more? Aidan
  3. I will see of I can get hold of another Here is a picture Aidan
  4. I don't no so that could be a problem I wonder if some one else doing an internal refit can help. There is also the issue that apparently they are very difficult to put back together again They are made of three items the base then a ring and on top of that the clear plastic lens Maybe this is not a good item to try. Let me have a think Aidan
  5. OK Pete i will start off - these you just cant get as they are plastic anyway and all the originals are degraded - I have had to stick mine together with a wooden strengthening ring ROOF LAMP ASSEMBLY GT6 INTERIOR LIGHT COVER PN 625616 Might be a b*** to do though Aidan
  6. As Pete says first check that the horns actually work by earthing them to the body chassis or engine block with a length of wire Aidan
  7. Hi Your not the first to say this See this thread http://forum.tssc.org.uk/index.php?/topic/2293-exhaust-too-loud/?fromsearch=1
  8. It may need to come apart again Pete Sods law says so! Aidan
  9. Sorry to bring this alive again but the vibration has returned and for the same reason as stated above The additional split pin now does not hold the two parts solidly together Would it be better to take both pins out and replace them with spring tension pins of a suitable size? I am not sure if the original part a"dowel" would just have been a solid pin Would this be a long term solution? And if not what else could I do to hold parts 1 and 14 solidly together? They do need to come apart still so no welding Thanks Aidan
  10. Hi Chris I learn new things every time in the forum. I never knew the frame was a bolt in and this makes sense of my car as the frame on mine has slightly different paintwork to the rest of the car and I always wondered why! Aidan
  11. If you haven't moved the screws, you might be lucky like me and not affect the alignment. Swapped mine out for new seals and crystal lenses,, when it came to the MOT this spring, the alignment was spot on ! Lucky or what!1!?!!! Aidan
  12. Mail sent Pete If anyone is coming down the A1 passing Newark, I am happy to give a lift in the GT6 from Long Bennington (on A1 just south of Newark) if anyone wants to shorten their drive (Only 1 space available ) Aidan
  13. Hi I'm afraid they are welded in and that's part of the problem cutting them out is not an easy job and as you have probably found they are rare. I think the mk2 might be slightly less rare as it might share the same form as the mk3? But I'm not sure on this I like the pic of the fuse box! Wonderful fuse that and the middle missing so no lights then! I upgraded the poor Lucas box on mine there's a thread on here you might find useful Another hard part to get is the dash top which I see is missing You might want to keep an eye out for one of those They sometimes come up on fleabay Aidan
  14. Hi Pete, It was some years ago, I thought of doing the same, importing a mk1 from the US and converting it to RHD. I did some investigation then on the different parts that would be needed and at that point I would have agreed with Clive that the Battery box and plates for the scuttle were available The problem I had was to find a RHD Facia panel PN:904621 that goes behind the wood dash. That would be my first search before anything else before you make a final decision and start buying parts for a RHD conversion Aidan
  15. Hi all, Saw this on ebay at lunch http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1968-Triumph-GT6-MK1-for-restoration-/222604885241?hash=item33d448fcf9:g:bpwAAOSwlxhZh2ro Any comments? Aidan
  16. Just a final update - All the fuses per the above table have not blown in 2k miles of travel in day and night conditions and a trip to France, so my estimates are possibly overstated. Still a lot less than the original 35 Amps though so I'm happy Regards Aidan
  17. Sorry for the slight drift here, but Pete you talk of a whine...... I get this off my diff but at high speed (over 70 mph). Does this mean that my diff has too much slack? or on its way to being so? Can it be cured? Thx Aidan
  18. Hi Pete This is good news I can get to HQ or your place. Looking forward to finding out exactly but on holiday some of September so hoping it does not clash Cheers Aidan
  19. Something was mentioned on another thread about run on caused by electrical feedback from a fan if I remember right have you fitted an electric fan lately? Aidan
  20. Also check the size of your studs If they have been upgraded, the ones with the standard 7/16ths stud hole won't fit Hope that makes sense! Aidan
  21. Sorry about the small thread hijack here but unfortunately the single lead holder from ebay is the wrong size Grrr! Anyway if anyone has a spare single lead gathering dust please let me know Happy to pay a few quid! Aidan
