  3. Hi Henk. Thank you. WRT Pete, it’s complicated! But basically he decided he didn’t want anything more to do with YouTube or videos so pulled everything. He’s still very busy (you can see his latest handiwork via Peter Jones Garage (different Peter) on TSSC Facebook page) but he is very unlikely to post anymore video unfortunately. Peter Jones has numerous Triumphs of his own and is keeping Pete busy but it’s only ever been a hobby for Pete (JadeMutly). I’ll let him know you asked after him 👍 Rich

  9. Thanks, yes we have a fridge /Freezer in the Garage. Can’t help but chuckle to myself every time I go out there 😂😂. I really can’t believe it!!

  11. Yaaay. My car 99.9% finished. Been out driving for the first time in nearly 20 years. 37 years of ownership, literally my baby! You can imaging the ear to ear smile on my face 😁 Absolutely loving it, driving really well - better than I remember! Thanks so much to my good mate Pete Dunne (AKA Jade Muttley) who took a completely knackered GT6 shell a brought it back to as good as new. Although I pride myself in having rebuilt the car twice before myself, my standard was 100% off his, hence the ground up rebuild. Some of you may have followed the rebuild on youtube. This build has included a chassis replacement, engine recondition and a LOT of new parts. The car now has leather seats (recovered by an upholsterer mate). I also covered the dash pad in leather and most other vinyl parts including the rear panels (which all looks and smells amazing). My beautiful little car looks absolutely stunning and drives amazingly. I AM SO HAPPY for me AND my Car!!! Thanks to all the advice the forum have given me - all very valuable and highly appreciated. I still have a few jobs to do but none too important. THANK YOU! BTW, the SAH rocket cover I bought new 30 years ago. The rear seat I extracted from a Triumph breakers also around 30 years ago.   13. No they are not interchangeable. Mk2 & 3 completely different. The Mk 3 had a bevelled rear edge along its length (as spit 4, 1500). Later Mk1 were as the mk2 but early mk1 were different. One I purchased for my mk2 looked identical to my original but like you found, the demist slots didn’t align. In fact the caps did not cover the holes properly. I discovered this after I covered it off the car. In this case it was because the foam moulding was set slightly differently around the slots. The metal frame was identical. I’m not sure if this is the difference between early mk1 and later mk1 But in the pic in the parts manual they look completely different! Note that the mk3 spit dash top is not interchangeable with a mk2 GT6 either.

  15. Is it a valve or a filter or both? Why does it need a valve? Struggling to find something. If anybody can point me at a suitable aquarium jobby that would be great!! Thank you Rich
  16. Managed to get one of these switches 2 speed with the electrical connectors instead of water nipples. Not sure what it comes off but a direct replacement & works a treat. Connections exactly the same unlike the earlier spitfire one I bought. It’s not in my GT6 parts manual and I’ve seen a GT6 non roto has bellows. Pretty sure it’s not an aftermarket.
  17. Anybody else noticed that the filter (which seems to incorporate a valve) in new new Tudor bottles is too tough for the bellows or even a small pump? Wondering if I have duff one. Fine when I take it off. Rich

    Good point. Are the batteries compatible with Aldi tools? Or is that too much to ask!!

  21. Hi Paul. Looked into it yesterday. Firstly I noticed the high beam flash cable on the switch was hanging by a thread with wire exposed so I guessed it was that and resoldered connection. But then I found the flash was instead working the interior light 🤪😀 Then I noticed that one of the cables close to the switch was worn through to the wire. The switch had had some dodgy soldering before so best to change the switch and cable. As it happens I have a spare so planning to do that today. 👍
  22. Please can somebody with a weathershield / britax sunroof tell me what secures the chrome hinges to the frame please? Rivets seem like the obvious choice but could be nut & bolt rich would look nicer. The two holes in the pic hold the hinge (1 of 3) and are accessible from behind. Many thanks Rich
