Ok so the outer cable is not anchored to the pedal anywhere just dangles from the bulkhead.looks like I'm missing a spire clip as well. Also what stops the pedal flipping right back on its self, obviously the bolt stops the forward travel but mine will come backwards? Cheers Tim

Hi, can anyone confirm how the inner and outer throttle cable connects to the pedal on a 65 herald with the sewing machine type pedal. Pictures would be great if anyone can assist, cheers in advance.

Mine is way too short, any ideas who would sell one? Also where would be the best place to buy the accelerator cable clip for the pedal and the accelerator cable clamp for the Solex carb end?

I have just removed the tube into the tank and there is no rubber o ring and I think the tube in the tank has been cut it is only 25cm in total so only 20 cm or 8 inches in the tank- does any know the correct length for a 12/50 saloon 65?

Can the fuel pipe from the tank leak air and stop any fuel from being draw up by the pump only I am getting no fuel feed to the pump, I can't even draw any from the tank by sucking on a pipe. The car has had a long layup and all pipes are clear and unblocked.

Hi I have a 12/50 herald with optronic lumenition and I'm getting no Spark at the plug leads.the unit has a good earth and a good ignition live 12v. The coil is a 3ohm coil with I swapped for a spare I had but that was a 1.7 ohm to see if it made any Spark and it didn't. Can anyone suggest any other checks to determine the fault, cheers Tim

Ok let me phrase it a different way Do the doors from a herald saloon fit a vitesse convertible.? Does the bulkhead on a herald saloon fit a vitesse convertible? Does a vitesse Bonnet line up ok on a herald bulkhead?

Hi I own a 65 herald 12/50 with a near perfect body and have just purchased a 71 vitesse convertible. I haven't picked up the Vitesse yet so I can't compare but I was wondering what body panels are interchangeable either with modification or not.also if any major components are swappable. I'm not fussed about the chassis or running gear as this is ok on the Vitesse. Thanks Timo

Wow very nice, did you have to modify the MGF seat frame or keep that standard and drill new holes

It's a tin top, was hoping to keep it period looking so vinyl or leather also not sure about legality/safety with non standard seats.

Does anyone know if triumph stag seats fit un modified into a 64 herald or alternatively I'm looking to purchase front seats or even a complete interior for the same if anyone knows of one??

Hi, new to the forum and Recently acquired a 1964 12/50 and have a query regarding the chassis number and it location.mine appears to be a single line stamped tag on the divers side bulkhead and has 2**** GDT which differs slightly to the log book. Should there be another plate on the other side of the bulkhead with a bit more info like trim and paint colour?
