  1. 1968 Mk1, Gloss black air filter box Mk2 silver,
  2. Just given the car it’s first service, whilst there I refitted the breather valve using a T piece just after the take off, feel happier now it’s back, car runs well.
  3. Well found , ordered, many thanks Tony. I moved the Top hose as Pete advised and now have a more acceptable space. Thanks Pete Richard.
  4. Thanks Pete, i'll try the hose move and see if I can source a slightly smaller belt. Richard
  5. Thanks for the replies, its odd, the 1088 belt is a bit slack with the bolt up to limit , have bought a guard but that is so close it'll rub the top hose, will try Pete's hose adjustment and see if that gives enough space for the guard. Took a look at the 1080 belt Tony but its 17mm wide so too wide, am looking for similar now 10mm wide. Maybe my belt has stretched/worn so a new 1088 will be better
  6. Hi, Mk 1 Vitesse has alternator fitted, belt (1088) fitted, however , alternator pulley blades sit only 7mm from top hose, looking for best fix, sadly I do not know history of this mod, brackets etc, thought maybe a slightly shorter belt would do, any thoughts? Thanks
  7. Thanks again Pete, much appreciated. Richard
  8. Thanks Pete, that's helpful, by oil dump I assume you mean there must be an oil trap at the end of the pipe. Richard
  9. Hi, advice please, Mk1 Vitesse 2L, had a remote servo fitted, garage used manifold point originally for the breather valve to connect the servo vacuum , which is fine, however the rocker box now just has long pipe to below the engine to vent any fumes. Is this good enough/acceptable or can/should the valve be re-instated, if so how? I am thinking a T piece in the pipe to the servo, Servo was from Rimmers so assume there is a non return valve on the servo, should I fit another in the pipe after the T piece? . If the valve is refitted 1.will there be enough vacuum for both, 2 Any effect on performance/running mixture etc. Car runs beautifully at the moment, is it best left as it is, Any thoughts. Thanks Richard
  10. Leon, Bought recon diff from Wins recently, I’ve only done 500 miles so far so a bit early to say, so far it’s perfect, I did go for the CWP, didn’t see the point of not going for the full recon, excellent delivery/ service, Geoff is very helpful.R
  11. JBANGLIA have Fuel Caps for Herald/Vitesse. on Ebay , The cap is black .£28.00 Inc. delivery and has 2 keys. They come with a ring and allen key to modify the aperture to accept a two prong cap. I have not been able to fit yet as the car is away being rebuilt, however the seller assures its been successfully fitted to a herald.
  12. Thanks for all the info, anyone that normally has them seem to be out of stock at the moment, hopefully they will re stock at some time. Good news is that I have been in touch with The Fuel Cap company and they are close to producing one to fit the Herald / Vitesse . (Its mainly black sadly but at least one can secure the tank) I will place the result on the Forum. Regards Richard
  13. Thanks Chris A. Any recollection of who those suppliers are as currently I cannot even find a black one. I agree they do not look nice but do not wish to leave the vehicle with a vunerable tank. R
  14. Cant seem to find a source for a Lockable fuel cap to fit my Vitesse, I wondered if anyone on the Forum has any ideas or even better, one to sell ! Thanks R
