  1. Mick Dolphin used to stock some. http://www.mickdolphin.co.uk/ Regards Mike
  2. When I did my car i found a good colour wiring diagram useful. I would also recommend a clamp current meter if not a cheap Multi-meter to check if you are getting the right voltage. Regards Mike
  3. Having just gone through a similar process, one of my carbs started sticking open on my vitesse. I bit the bullet and bought some new Diaphragm - Hydrin Based - 150 Type.( Bio fuel resistant) They are a much better fit and are thinner, than parts I have bought from other suppliers. http://zenithcarb.co.uk/cd-diaphragms/diaphragm-hydrin-based-150-types.html certainly worked for me . Regards Mike
  4. Having not long gone through a similar exercise on one of my cars, which doesn't have a ballast coil. Order of fault location would be, 1. Check the coil primary resistance if its 3 ohms then its not a ballasted coil, you need to dump the ballast resistor or fit the correct 6 volt coil. 2. Change the rotor arm for a red one. 3. Change the Dizzy cap for a good quality one. 4. Make sure the plugs are ok and gapped correctly 5. check or replace the ht leads the lead from the dizzy to the coil can very often cause weak spark when hot (especially if you are using a 12 volt coil with a 6 volt ballast resistor) For me it was the "rotor arm" the quality of some of these after market parts has been very poor. Have a look here http://www.distributordoctor.com/red-rotor-arms.html Regards Mike
  5. I'm with Clive I have not long taken the head off my Vitesse after 20 plus years 1. Take all the head studs out 2.Remove the water pump housing from the front of the engine. 3. Hefty chunk of 2 by 4 against the head and use a lump hammer in an upwards direction against the wood. Worked for me. Regards Mike
  6. Hi Jim Although it’s unlikely you can check the plug in the back of the alternator make sure the thin wire is connected and not broken off. If you don’t have a multimeter to check if the voltage is rising above 13 Volts when the engine speed reaches around 1500 Rpm, then a simple test is put the lights on. Rev the engine to around 1500 Rpm do they get brighter as the engine speed goes up? It depends on the size of the two pulleys at which point the alternator will start generating enough power to charge the battery. If it is charging the battery don’t worry about the light. Regards Mike
  7. Hi I have used a milton keynes firm GASKETS for CLASSICS 01908 - 366435 (Mon-Fri - 8.30am - 5.30pm) they have an ebay store, they only make gaskets and are very helpful.Give them a try, good luck. Regards Mike
  8. I used this switch from Euro's http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Light-Switch-BMW-3-Series-E30-E21-Volvo-240-940-850-760-740-240-/230958745598?fits=Car+Make%3ABMW&hash=item35c636c7fe:g:lT0AAMXQ71xRXtXx Looks like the same one as the others, but you might have a local store to collect from? it works very well. Regards Mike
  9. I thought it would be easier if the bolt was machined out not by Chris Witor it all went a bit wrong! He cleaned out the water way and went a bit too far, the car developed water injection. I have used all stainless fittings from Chris Witor and am very happy wit h the end result, I had to fit a stainless steel pipe between the banjo and the water inlet pipe.
  10. Hi Sean It's 1/2 inch BSP good luck getting the rest out! You can use Chris Witor removal service http://www.chriswitor.com/proddetail.php?prod=CW3288 Merry Christmas to you Regards Mike
  11. Hi Kev At the risk of complicating matters I notice that the club shop lists the Rotoflex conversion unit as a special. I have always thought that the conversion unit was shorter as they can lock on maximum travel . My cars have both setups but I didn’t fit the shock conversion to my rotoflex car, My cv conversion car has standard Lever arm dampers with the canley racing drop links which work well. Give the shop a ring they should be able to give you the sizes. Regards Mike
  12. From your description it sounds like your problem could be at the rear not the front. The most important thing is that all the clusters have a good earth, make sure all the bulbs are clean and free from corrosion. You might need to break out a flying earth wire attach to a ground on the chassis and connect to the earth on each bulb cluster. Hope this helps? Regards Mike
  13. Hi Henry Been a few years since I bought mine from TD Fitchett as Clive suggests I am pretty sure they all come from there. They are an OK fit the guy who put mine on struggled with the wing to centre panel fit where the side light hole is. Good luck with yours Mike
