  1. I just cut some buttons from polyurethane sheet with a wad punch when rebuilding my Vitesse rear spring. Had to use a hydraulic bearing splitter to cut them, I don't have a hydraulic press, with a piece of steel over the bearing splitter. Tried with my biggest hammer, waste of time. Regards Paul.
  2. I have removed engine and gearbox together on my Vitesse recently, same method as JohnD, tried engine only once a bugger to line up and rejoin engine and gearbox, never again. Probably comes down to equipment, room and help available, used a bungee cord with hooks on each end to hold the exhaust out off the way, starter can catch on the steering shaft. Regards Paul.
  3. Only used part off the supplied bracket, the bit around the nose of the servo, the rest I made from stainless strip using some of the pedal box holes using slightly longer bolts to fit them. Little bit tight but had the advantage of not requiring any modifications to the car body or electrics. Regards Paul.
  4. Fitted servo in my Vitesse over master cylinders, no extra holes needed. Regards Paul.
  5. Fitted one of the Power stop servos, think it is a Lockheed copy, to my Mk1 2L Vitesse years ago just to reduce the pedal force needed. Regards Paul.
  6. Or you're waiting for non existing sensors to beep with same result as you're other car has them. Regards Paul.
  7. Recently on eBay saw some cheap parking sensor kits so decided to buy one and fit to my Vitesse, only used two of the four sensors, only extra hole was in the number plate/reversing light bracket. Completely reversible except for the cost and time to fit. Regards Paul.
  8. Had stone chip flake off hand painted red oxide primer on my Vitesse, red oxide coating is fine and I wondered if I should have given it a light sand to provide a key. Regards Paul.
  9. C ring spanners are very useful and I have modified sockets and spanners for various jobs, also made spanner extenders and adapters so that ring and open ended spanners can be used with a torque wrench. Regards Paul.
  10. Does that include a Birmingham screwdriver. Regards Paul
  11. I had seen him wandering a bit in the left lane so was keeping an eye on him, try to think of everyone else on the road these days as a homicidal or suicidal idiot, hence the dashcam. Think my language was quite restrained for the occasion. Regards Paul.
  12. Seem to remember a Top Gear with and old Land Rover with skinny tyres kept going in the mud while more modern off roaders with wide tyres got stuck. Regards Paul.
  13. While out shopping today, sorry for the language. If a car driver hit him who would get the blame?, not sure how clear on video but he had headphones on. Regards Paul. Nextbase_Video_Edit.002.MOV
  14. That's because you're wrong, no discussion no debate, I'm right you're wrong, are you to thick to understand that. Today's mentality. Couldn't find an emoji for exasperation. Regards Paul
  15. A few years ago an American immigration official remarked on the number of stamps and visas in my passport on being told I was part of the ski generation he looked puzzled. It changed to a smile when I explained, he stamped my passport saying have a good holiday. Currently starting to fill my current non EU passport. Regards Paul
  16. No worse than some off the other things done and calling them an "upgrade". Regards Paul
  17. No "boss" or financial controller, no problem. Regards Paul.
  18. Stops the relatives getting it.😁💰 Regards Paul.
  19. Blown head gasket, so decided to have it converted to unleaded, the valves and seats were a bit iffy. Don't like the Mk1 2L head design, have to remove the manifolds to retorque the head which is a waste of gaskets. Regards Paul.
  20. Mk1 2L Vitesse, excellent choice nice looking car, welcome. As to Fords never owned one, but had the use of, so it balances out. Regards Paul.
  21. Been using a spare engine in my Vitesse while some work was done on the main one, wet day so finally got started on swopping them back. Wondering what my back will be like tomorrow. Regards Paul.
  22. Didn't drill manifold when I fitted servo to my Vitesse, bought 16mm Banjo fittings and fitted a drilled, from memory, a 5/8UNF set screw with the had cut of and a stainless acorn nut. Could use same method for a vacuum guage. Regards Paul
  23. Video suggests he didn't leave any end float in the wheel bearings which is not correct if using original taper roller bearings. Regards Paul.
  24. Found 0.8mm wire, presumably you are not using gasless, the most useful size even with 20guage using a pulse weld technique to reduce heat build up. Colin, unsmoked back from a proper butchers which doesn't exude water and that white stuff is the best match IMHO. Both suggestions from my experience as a very amateur welder, best tool after welding is an angle grinder or powerfile, can make things look so much better. Regards Paul
