  1. Their website domain name was created 2018-03-10 so the business may having some history. I have never heard of them.
  2. None of the official dealer directories published in March 1972, March 1974 and May 1975 show any Triumph dealers in Sidmouth. I have no details about Stevens Cross.
  3. Please share a scan of any dealer stamps you have. Every contribution helps me build a better collection of information from which to write posts and share with enquirers.
  4. F R Northcott, Mill Street, Sidmouth are listed in several directories that you check out at: http://vitessesteve.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/triumph-car-dealer-directories.html - They are listed up to March 1972. March 1974 show no dealer in Sidmouth. I do not have any photos of this firm yet. Have you tried searching local history groups or forum. Many such group have websites or facebook groups and I have found them a very fruitful source in the past.
  5. Triumph car dealers in New Zealand I have written an article is about car dealers who sold and serviced Standard Triumph cars in New Zealand. I would welcome any further comments and material that readers may have.
  6. thanks Colin - so it appears that the TR7 has no practical tow points as standard. I wonder what the rally cars had.
  7. The rear eyes are tucked in behind the rear bumper. They are very close to the rear exhaust silencer. Any rope would also catch on the rear fog lights. Looks as if they would be better suited as eyes to tie the car down rather than tow it to me.
  8. I was really wanting to know about the practical side of things. Elsewhere I learned that: There should be towing eyes on each rear chassis leg + eyes under the front bumper. I will have a closer look for these attachment points. In either case there is a real possibility of a rope catching on the bodywork especially at the front with the number plate hanging so low. Pulling on the diff would be OK but it is a long way in under the rear of the car.
  9. I need to move my TR7 a short distance from its current resting place. It is currently not moving under its own power. Does the TR7 have official towing points? How about roping a loop around the diff? Where would you attach a tow rope at the front?
  10. I see that the Douglas Motor Services website is down so not sure how they are doing
  11. If you have the company name you can search Company House records at: https://www.gov.uk/get-information-about-a-company

  14. Can I suggest you give serious consideration to contacting the other Triumph clubs in the area. Joint meeting can work very well. I seem to remember a TR meeting in Wragby at one point.
  15. I think you are correct about ADU1B which explains why it was allowed to run at LeMans Classic. I have seen it suggested that labour costs are 1/4 of what has to charged out. + labour costs include more than actual wages paid to the employee.
  16. Companies house is still showing his company as active.
  17. Try the GT6 Vitesse Workshop Manual available from many good book shops or for free from my website: http://vitessesteve.co.uk/Servicemanuals Here 1 such page as an example.
  18. There is UNF version one on eBay now: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Edwards-Unf-Bolt-Saver-Tool/192889430933?hash=item2ce91b2395:g:MQEAAOSwOz5csy~H
  19. This new version of the website seems to work well on many different screen sizes and devices. The menu that appears in the mobile formats would be better if the font size was bigger. Such design is not easy and, as some have found when your browser remembers the old style, can present problems. However carrying over the old pages does help you when using bookmarks and is great for web searches as the page addresses/links still work. I agree the lack of search on the website is frustrating.
  20. Have you tried contacting them via facebook. I got an initial reply that way but still am locked out. As am not a paid up TR Drivers member have given up on their forum for now Which is a pity as it was a great source of help..
  21. Sports Car Supplies based in Newcastle may know of somebody looking for a Vitesse. Probably worth saying where you are. Have you tried asking at your local club meeting?
  22. Also worth getting a full parts catalogue. The diagrams help you see how the bits go together.
