  1. Thanks BW, really appreciate it - its good to be here and to be made so instantly welcome. Good to hear its a friendly helpful place to be and its good to know its been of benefit to you. Undoubtedly ill need similar help along the way with little Bertie. Ill check out your thread as it will be good to have a handle on who owns what and interesting to chart peoples progress. Im sure your diy posts upcoming will be of great help. Good on you too for re-awakening your spitfire after its long hibernation - i love to hear of that.

  6. Bertie my 1962 Herald is the oldest car I've owned and driven - he is 21 years my senior!!!
  7. Many thanks for that Gully, much appreciated indeed. We certainly are very lucky with scenery up this way and as you say the roads would be perfectly suited to your GT6 which looks gorgeous judging by your avatar picture there :-) Getting weather to enjoy it up this way is quite another matter...... :-)
  8. Thanks for the advice BW - i like your eye for detail and have taken your advice with excellent results...thank you kind sir :-)
  9. No need to apologise Beadwolf: its all humorous fun!! :-) Thats my next mission...to try and sort an avatar that wont scare the Forum!! :-)
  10. Many thanks for that colin, much appreciated indeed - I'm a bit of a purist so it will indeed be staying exactly as you see it. Im sure your doing a grand job resto wise. If you require any detailed shots just let me know what of and ill try my very best to get you as clear close up shots as i can.
  11. Many thanks Steve, much appreciated. I know what you mean....even in my mid 30s that syndrome is rapidly onsetting, isn't it Friday today??? :-) If you do recall please let me know :-)
  12. Fantastic Doug: i must need my eyes testing...and thats with Glasses!!!! :-) Your GT6 looks magnificent and your Daughter looked beautiful on her big day - so nice the car was able to play sure a huge part in the day :-) Love the photos, they are excellent!!! :-) Thanks for sharing them Doug.
  13. Its the only way to keep them nice isn't it Doug, your Spitfire in your avatar pic looks lovely :-) Aye, i do concur about seatbelt, even static ones would be better than nothing i suppose...its all very well saying "I'm not planning on having a bump" but its other people you need to watch out for as their stupidity is baffling at times...have you seen that clip on youtube when you type in Triumph Herald of the poor little Convertible recently, looked a lovely car as well. Glad you were ok after your bump previously.
  14. Thanks Doug, much appreciated. Alas the gauges are not original but i do appreciate the fact someone has fitted a temperature gauge - a must really with a car that age. I can understand fully why people do fit modern upgrades, but not for me I'm afraid - the car will never be used at night nor in the rain so in terms of an alternator there will never be that much demand on the little dynamo, and i keep the battery on trickle charge all the time (disconnected from the car). I just personally think (and were all different - be a dull world if were all the same) that you may as well have a more modern car if upgrades are desired. I just like the experience of how they would have been at the time i suppose, but as i say were all different and i can appreciate all viewpoints :-)
  15. That's absolutely fabulous, many sincere thanks for that above: sounds very promising indeed!!! Really appreciate that and thank you Kevin for passing that on. Kind Regards Russell
  16. Hi all thanks for the comments above, good ideas above with the boxes however for myself speaking personally I'll still be trying to figure out an actual folder arrangement because (again speaking personally) it's not purely a storage solution: where the binders were excellent was having the ability to have "a year on your lap" and being able to just hold the binder and read through a copy by the clever way they were held in with the metal wire. It was very handy and nice to use also without having to delve into a box to find the issue you were looking for. Again speaking personally here but that to me is worth paying more for. Absolutely love the idea of a club transfer logo though if we found a suitable option and this would give the member the ability to store them however they wanted but the ability to keep it all looking uniform.
  17. Many thanks for this, i too had an identical conversation to above this afternoon (however was quoted £12 each with a minimum of 500). Id be seriously interested in purchasing around 40-50 binders (expensive yes but its important to me to have all my Couriers bound and matching as they are on display in a nice bookcase) which will give me enough for previous years and a good few years into the future.
  18. I agree Pete, modern technology is always moving forward and i think its brilliant that the club has done that - must have taken ages to do...im just old fashioned i guess!! Love flicking through those tangible pages :-) Kind Regards Russell.
  19. Absolutely, I'm happy to pay in advance as well. I shall give them a tinkle in the morning and report back :-)
  20. Hi Richard, Many thanks for your reply, and i agree - as you say its only a phone call away. I shall certainly give the shop a little call in the morning and see what the options are :-) I shall certainly report back. Kind Regards Bertie
  21. Many thanks for that Adrian, appreciate the reply. I was prepared to buy an awful lot of them as i have nearly every Courier to date so wanted them all stored correctly. That's such a shame. Shall need to look out for them on the second hand market then but doubt I'll get the quantity I was looking for :-(
  22. Hi There, Are the Binders still available for the Courier magazines at all? Im probably overlooking it but can no longer see them listed. Thanks in advance, and Kind Regards
