  1. Hi Dougbgt6, GR. What is that? I know it’s a GT6 running on 4 cylinders as one of those rubber Diaphragm things has popped a hole in it. Luckily those other diaphragm things did not go in holes. That nice man Dennis Barbet has a lot to answer for he obtained a commission to design the Stromberg carburettor did that and promptly left to join Triumph as a Development Engineer and inflicted it on the world of Triumph and thus the carburetter tune kit CD 200 was born. Thread Drift Next Doug I just noticed your GT6 is a Non- Rotoflex lucky you and therefore it must be later than KC 20,000. I have a friend who is an ex works Triumph mechanic that about time of Andy Cooks magazine article / interview on his GT6 wanted to sell his Spitfire and replace it with a Non- Rotoflex GT 6 and I was duly asked to find him one. I did actually find him one on the dreaded Ebay with only two hours to run and only a couple of bids and it looked good even had carpet up images but alas it was not to be he had gone out for the day and the sale went through at a very reasonable price. I also noticed in one of your comments that you wanted some non metric fixings at one time. If you have a desperate need again I use a place about 15 mile from me that can supply almost anything in small quantities even if it is not stocked and at a reasonable price well so far. So if you are stuck any times just shout.
  2. Result Andy and Thank You. Parts from the Club Shop ? Loyalty to our Club is one thing but was it not over 1,000 parts. From our club shop over the counter I don’t think so. I don’t think it was my imagination but was it not fitted with twin HS 4 SU carburettors and not those rival things. Way to go. That the second time around your car has stared Andy and is very cunning plan to increase its value. And Lads let not get to picky it is a TV show not a workshop manual. If my understanding is correct the owner has now passed away therefore I feel it only correct to offer our condolences to his family.
  3. Hi all. What a way to introduce yourself. It must be an age thing but the Hi introduction usally gets the Low responce from me and the look of complete lack of understanding from the speaker. I have been a member of the TSCC for five years now and attend the Essex Area meetings but have never used the club forum before I own a 1977 1500 Spitfire in Russet Brown which I purchased from Mark Smith the East Berks A.O. We that is Falcon Royce the good lady wife and myself instantly re-named the car from the name Mark called it which was Bob to Winnie the Pooh well it is Russet Brown. If Mark gets to read this yes Pooh is well. I do own other Triumph Spitfires but they were purchased later and for a company I am still trying to put togeather. Some of you will have noticed a connection with the pseudonym names that my wife and I use which is because with both have strong connections with Aviation. Well thats all from me for now Happy Motoring.
