  1. Thanks Clive, That's kind of you to offer. If you could take a quick look and let me know what you think? Cheers,
  2. Hi Josef, Hanging on for Mk3 seats at the moment. mk4s look a bit squarish. Cheers.
  3. Hi Josef, Yes saw that one but it is a bit steep and it needs renovating too. Collection from Hove which is a bit far from me. Hoping to pay under £100 and get a sub-frame too! Bit cheeky I expect. Cheers.
  4. Hi Guys, Anybody got a spare Mk3 Spitfire dash top crash pad for sale? The welders managed to butcher mine. Cheers.
  5. Hi Guys, Anybody got a Spit Mk3 seat, preferably with the sub-frame, for sale? Think it is the nearside that I need as the one I have has the slide adjuster on the right. Cheers.
  6. Thanks Guys, Think I will follow your advice. Cheers.
  7. Thanks Colin, Next time I order some bits I will get some and see what they are like. Cheers.
  8. Hi Guys, Don't know how I managed this! What I want to type was do TR4 -TR6 seats fit a Mk3 Spitfire? There seems to be plenty available and I am short one seat. Cheers.
  9. Hi Guys, Doing the car's interior now. How do you fit the 2 rear quarter panels just in front of the fuel tank? Rimmer's show that they need some clips but ever since I owned the car, approx 50 years, it has never had clips and they just push in and are left like that. Any advice? Cheers

  11. Mine definitely do not have the part 17 spacers fitted so will have to order some and bolt them on as per the diagram. Will mastic both areas as Colin suggests. Thanks again Colin and Josef.
  12. When you re-assemble the window does the mastic go between the glass and the rubber seal or the rubber seal and the metal drop glass channel?
  13. Parts 18 - 20 on the diagram. I have got some bolts so I will put them on so that each end has one rivet and one bolt. might need to shorten my bolts though as they are a bit long.
  14. Thanks guys as always. Got one apart now but could not get the lift channel out of the top of the door, had to remove it via one of the big holes at the back of the door carcass. The one I took off had the screws missing from both ends but the one still on has both screws in it. Noticed in the pictures above that a screw was missing! Anybody know which is correct? Cheers.
  15. Thanks Josef, looks like broken finger nail time! Cheers, George Also thanks Colin for putting on the exploded diagram, cheers.
  16. Hi Colin, Part 15 on the exploded diagram. Cheers, George
  17. Hi Guys, Both of the window lift channels that hold the glass in the doors have rusted out. I have obtained replacements but how do you remove them from the drop glass regulator and re- fit them? I have had a good look but cannot see how to do it. Is it a positioning thing so that they slide out? Car is 1967 Spitfire Mk3 Cheers.
  18. Well plenty for me to think of there! Thanks again guys will let you know how I get on.
  19. Thanks guys, patience, perseverance and time, loads of time, appears to be the key! Will press on and see how it goes. Might try slackening the hinge to body bolts, fit the door lock mechanism, shut the door and keep adjusting the striker plate until it looks OK and then re-tighten the hinge to body bolts! Worth a try? Cheers.
  20. Hi Guys, When I got my car back from the bodyshop the doors were a good fit with nice gaps. I took them off to do some body filling round the edges where it looked like the new skins had been crimped on using a set of teeth, bit like the edge on a steak and kidney pie. Now I am trying to refit them and I cannot get them anywhere near right. What is the knack to fitting doors? Cheers
  21. Hi Guys, Their reply was as follows; 'I think there is a crossmember that gets in the way. You would need to fabricate some sort of frame or box for the runners to fix to, in order to avoid this. I don't actually have first-hand experience of this, but this is the feedback that we have had. Hope this helps.' Would still like the seats as I have lost one of my Spitfire seats and the other requires the frame welding and new foam and cover. Fundamentally need a new seat really! Cheers,
  22. Thanks guys. What I love about this club is everybody wants to help. Really appreciate your input.
  23. Hi Guys, Finally got the dash rewired now trying to refit the steering column to attach the remaining wires from the loom to the column. The first photo is the filler with an elongated hole on the near side, the second photo is the mounting bracket with a pair of holes plus a single hole on the side. Is the filler attached to the mounting bracket using the elongated hole in the filler and the single hole in the bracket or one of the pair? Also in the filler there is a round hole on the face, what goes through there and is it used to attach the filler to the dash? Wish I had written down how it was mounted when I took it apart! Thanks guys,
  24. Thanks. Will not bother then, I never took it out when I ran the car so hopefully I won't have to after the re-wire.
  25. Hi Guys, I am currently connecting the wiring loom to the dash instruments on my Mk3 Spitfire. Does the metal shade which holds the green lens, has to be screwed in, need to be glued to the back of the dash? I get the feeling if I pull the bulb unit out whilst it has the green lens in will break the lens. cheers
