Following from my receipt post I going to order new jets and needles. According to SU web site my Spit4 should have a AUD 983 carb with a 9104 jet and a AN standard needle. However I have an AUD 285 ( listed as USA Mrk 3 not UK ). The jet assembly is however the same AUD 9104 but with a DD Needle. Anyone know of any major differences? And should I still use a AN or DD needle? I’m guessing AN due to my smaller CC engine? thanks Grant

Just a quick question as my indicators work but I get a very poor or no tick tock from the flasher unit. Is there only one flasher unit controlling front and rear. Ie the one under dash area ? ok another question 😂 I’m I right in saying I can use a LED compatible unit with my current standard bulbs. Thinking of upgrading to LED bulbs at a later date. Mine was MOT last year but I haven't this year. The reason being iv had work done by a qualified mechanic who specialises in classics. He's done a good check over and I have recepts to prove it. If I had done the work my self then I would MOT the car.

To answer John's question. Yes I am aware the back catalogue is available on line and the future plans for the search facilities. Obviously only some people are technophobes and yes peeps do this in their own time. I was simply expressing my opinion on future direction without I hope sagging anyone off. I also said I like the current paper copy too.

Interesting subject the tax and all however as a younger ish member who uses forums and face book groups a lot, I am concerned at the comments of some officials been technophobes and these posts won’t be seen by them? To me this forum and the Facebook group are key to me staying with the club. I’m no mechanic and post quite a lot. Online content is the present and the future, if the club fails in these areas it will die in my opinion. This forum should be monitored by the committee as a matter of course and acted upon. I love the paper copy of the currier but a fully searchable on line back catalogue should be available to make these articles more valuable to current and future members.

Want to clarify what oil filter to use. Is the original filter a Spin on type ie GFE150? The Spitfire therefore doesn’t need a spin off conversation? first oil change for me so apologies for the simple question. Thanks

Can anyone tell me the nut size and thread the three nuts are that connect the bottom of the cast exhaust manifold down pipe onto the first section of exhaust tips. I have had two go missing 🤔 Thanks Grant

Indeed the club is very welcoming and I haven’t met any pretentious members yet. I’m working class and most Triumphs are working class cars, so I fit in just fine. Standard or modded it’s up to you, knowbody seems to mind. I like that attitude.
