  1. Some say you can put some stiff wire through the petrol cap and move the arm (normally up as its stuck on empty) so I see no reason why you couldn't move it up and down if its stuck. Otherwise its easy to take out (make sure you haven't a full tank) I cut a cork gasket to refit...
  2. If you send me a message with email address I will send you photo of it, I don't want to put it on here as it does have a copyright attached to it, it gone up £2 since 2020!!
  3. I just went into the garage and had a look, its the overdrive wiring part, it only shows one type where as the WSM shows two, types A and B also the colour from the relay to the solenoid is shown as yellow/Brown when its yellow/purple. Not a major problem, every other part is correct.
  4. I bought one, its very good but I think its for the 1600 Vitesse (rather than 2000) so there was something missing that I can't quite remember what it was...
  5. This was a feature of 1960s cars, personally I would prefer for it to be switched via the key...
  6. Some people cut a hole in the floorpan to get access to the top of the new outrigger for welding and then weld the cutout back into the floor...
  7. So reading the other thread about the merits of laying up for winter or using it I thought I might 'use it' and try a twenty mile round trip to Toolstation in Cirencester. Battery was flat and wouldn't start so was about to push it back into the garage when white van man turned up with a nice new shiny Bosch battery, we had the usual 'My Dad/Gramps had a Herald' and that he didn't realise they had six cylinders (do you correct them?) he was really interested and for a moment I thought he was going to come with me. Anyway I threw the Bosch on and he bounced into life, on arrival at Toolstation JONI proved quite a hit with the young guys behind the counter, 'awe mate that's really SICK' one said, I take it 'sick' means good in modern parlance? also they were amazed that he was 55 years old and still going strong, as the lad had to recently scrap his 12 year old Corsa. But it made me realise driving them makes people smile particularly old boys of my age and now even the youth of today, they won't make people smile in the dark days of winter while hidden away in garages, so get em out and drive em... The biggest smile of the day though was me driving home at sixty mph...
  8. Local car valet company who also do powder coating in Cotswold water Park. £70 a couple of years ago looks almost a burnished blue/grey, worn well although I did mark one when the pop rivet gun did the normal kick back!! Use a cloth now!!
  9. This might help and give you some idea of a solution!!
  10. B2s normally come in at night they don't like the anoraks at the end of the runway, according to local news we can expect two B2s any day now as the spotters saw B2 spare engines being unloaded last week.
  11. I am lucky enough to live near RAF Fairford and today two B1B bombers just came in to join the U2 spy planes that are here already.... IMG_4886.MOV
  12. Once you bolt on the T-pieces No3 and No22 from the first diagram it becomes clear as to where to run both brake and fuel lines. Good Luck!!
  13. Second from the bottom... fits in holes along the near side main chassis rail.
  14. Mine were soldered so pulled out easy by just tugging on the wire... But I do have a special tool for putting them back in!!
  15. I like it, beads water for a long time... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-Hybrid-Ceramic-Advanced-Technology/dp/B0845Q2R4Z?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1 follow up with this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-Detailer-Enhances-Coatings-Sealants/dp/B0845PPPHC?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
  16. Pulled mine out and replaced the bulb with a LED so I can now see it in sunlight...Not glued!!
  17. Where exactly is this pin, I look at the diff diagram and can't see it? Mine is still clunking and I just can't track it down, thinking a rolling road (mot brake test type rolling road) might allow me to track it down.
  18. I took mine off the ignition switch spare terminal so its only live with ignition switched on!!!
