  2. Good luck Ian, send a couple of pic's of the Alpine nice cars. Tony.
  3. That was to stop them Colin.... They couldn't get the socks on. Tony.
  4. You have to unpick the most worn out sock Pete and use that I used sit for hours with my gran doing that. Tony.
  5. We could be related Colin..... on the clothes side anyway My excuse is i hate shopping for clothes. Swmbo is still tutting away like "skippy" that there could be someone as scruffy as me......I also hate buying new if something can be repaired. Tony.
  6. Never used Dinitrol BW, i have always used https://www.bilthamber.com. Same sort of stuff, i was swayed by the cavity wand for box sections etc. I'm with you on painting edges and using wax. I use remnants of old wax's that have be lying about for ages. Tony.
  7. Hi Jeff, i have both Stag and 2.5S and a really bad back to go with them. If you go for the 2000 you will more than likely have to change the front seats for Alpha156 ones, myself and Pete have done that. Stag seats if the foams are ok? are not to bad, but if worn are terrible but can be changed for others. I enjoy both cars but prefer the saloon for all year round driving. Tony.
  8. I'm sure BFG will be on soon as he has recently bought "Katie" Same colour as well. Tony.
  9. A pub near me watered the beer down so much you didn't get drunk, you got the bends Tony.
  10. Do your own with a diy kit Paula. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114600895035?hash=item1aaebee23b:g:4FUAAOSwtNlcqETp Tony.
  11. I wonder if they can check for water in beer? Tony.
  12. A strange one Paul i have a 2500S auto and have always used bog standard supermarket unleaded and never had a problem. Just wondering if it was a dodgy batch of fuel? Tony.
  13. It must use more fuel if you can't turn it off...... Tony.
  14. The sliding sunroofs don't interchange easily, i do know someone who tried a while ago and it looked horrible and leaked. I don't know if he got his measurements wrong? Pop tops go in anywhere Tony.
  15. It's what i use BW, Morris golden film, i have used it for years without problems. I wonder if it's cheaper at the local takeaway? Tony.
  16. You are right Mathew those cvh engines could sludge up..... The black death we used to call it as it blocked the hydraulic tappets. Tony.
  17. I'm with Clive, sump off is the best option. Some of these cleaning methods can destroy engines by removing the sh*t and gum that is holding the engine together. The grey sludge is simply worn bearing and piston deposits that fall into the sump and stay there. You wont find a trace of it on the dipstick so it proves the oil is doing its job. Tony.
  18. I know what you mean Pete, on Sunday i decided to get all four wheels off the ground on my Dolomite. as I was going into hospital to have my new pacemaker rewired so no chance after. Everything went smoothly until i pressed the button to shut the door..... B++++++d thing wouldn't go past the front bumper Back it went on its wheels where its staying........ Feel better though with the new megajolt wired correctly. Tony.

    DVLA

Good news Paul, makes a refreshing change for DVLA. Tony.
  20. Welcome to the forum and well done with your progress. I think a few of have done the same thing A learning curve we call it..... As Paul says, some pics would be great. Tony.
  21. I don't know how you do it Pete... as well as being outside and then posting on here Tony.
  22. You set the timing after setting the dwell Colin, or have i got it wrong? Tony.
  23. I always use a dwell meter when setting points as it's more accurate and enables you to get the timing spot on as well. Not sure of the dwell reading for yours but it should tell you in the manual. Tony.
  24. I had a similar issue BW with a rarely used modern and tried PJ who came up with a better price that included full breakdown cover so i ended up saving both ways They only seem to do multi car on classics. I know what you have been through with club card vouchers aargh..... Tony.
