  1. 650 to 800 would be nice , are you sure its that high? ie not taco wrong. Sorry if that sounds wrong. Balance? Can you not close the spindles ? Air leak after the carbs?
  2. Its almost as if it had been done before! They used to hide at different places to catch you out if you tried a short cut. I think one of the boys even cought the bus for a few stops once. It was a mad race then about 150m from the end we would hide up so we came in the last places! That way we were first to go the next week. On a friday so last lesson almost a job and go home. I lived about 10 miles from the school and the first year a coach was provided but was cut from the second year. Often i would race the bus home! As it had to stop every stop! And there was a field i could cut across, could not do that now, as its the m25! Now there's some stories about when they built that i could tell.
  3. No, never the top of anything, always an also ran! Made the mistake of winning the cross country once, that ment you left last the next week! They certainly taught you to hide under the radar. As they say in only fools, i have always been an achiever , never achieved anything though!
  4. Never was bad enough to get the cane either! Did often get the cup on the top of the head for talking in line.
  5. Never got a star at school, destined to be mediocre at everything. When i try to be mediocre i end up just average at that!
  6. On a quick side question! Why put ratio 1:1 as really its not a ratio but a direct drive, just wondered?
  7. If imperial is it not defined in threads per inch by the inner size? Count the threads, probably 22tpi?

Used mine to restore two spitfires, usually come up for sale between 100 and 200 pounds. Great for making welding in the right position. Get the sills welded in position with the body on the chassis first, and floor pans at least tack welded when on the chassis. It makes line up better. Even on the gt6 i would brace the doorway, definitely with a spitfire. Saves being upside-down welding!
  11. Had this on second gear , ball and spring missing that hold it in place (single rail 1500)
  12. Seen this before, makes you laugh how some are very simplistic "you can do this with no effort or money and get a profit ". There is a restoration place near me, could never afford to put my car there! 70k restoration on a tr4! With a few mods. Reckon the only way they would make 800 profit is if they sold it for parts, which still happens alot.
  13. You know it now works and your happy. Thats as much as you can hope.
  14. You may not need it today but there is allways tomorrow. Thats why i have a barn full of bits ready for tomorrow
  15. For a thread about following, i have not signed up to be notified of updates! Just my ocd of clearing all threads keeps me up to date.
  16. Yes Not as good as nutter on the bus but up there. Trying this but i may need more than one.
  17. Never mind the daisy's, i have either one or two moles in my back garden. Every time i mow the mounds keep poping back up!
  18. They are all different ones as well, hows it going for support your local chippy!
  19. The old dilemma. I met my wife of 30 years due to being in a bad motorcycle accident. Wish i had not had the accident but if i didn't i would never had met the wife.
  20. Trust, both happy before and after are the key points. Swapped labour for a tr7, both happy with the deal Swapped dt175mx for a mk1 fiesta (some cash my way). Both happy Those were with people i knew. Swapped a Mgf vv for a rover v6 75 lpg. Got what i needed (5 seat car ) but had to sort a few suspension/ power stearing problems, so came out worse on the deal, did not know the guy and lived opposite ends of country. Different forum and surprise he left that quickly after! Would swap again if the deal was right but definitely learned some lessons.
  21. Yes, mmmmmmmm Something to do with something done. Definitely not drifting
  22. Salt and vinegar for the chips and lots of red sauce to dunk all in. No condiments on the black pudding
  23. I swapped , it turned down as the person had neglected to tell me the power stearing was leaking (subframe out job) and gearbox mount was about to go! As we met half way between where we lived and short test drives in each it was a bit late by the time i found out. I would do another swap but a very good look over the car i was getting. Have swapped a motorcycle for a car before with no problem, that time though we worked together and both knew the vehicle's.
