    2500s tyre's

Having now driven 200 miles since last weekend i know the tyre's need changing. Little bit wobbly over sixty. Checked the date on them. One is 8 years old, two are 14 years old and one 17 years old . Did not check the spare as usually thats the worse one! The 3 oldest are starting to crack. Plan is to change 4 . The 3 oldest and spare and put the 8 year old one as the spare. They are the stag alloy type 14 inch. Recommendations please, something with low road noise but good grip, not worried about them wearing out quick as i would rather that than age out. Cheers
  2. Have 2500s with alfa seats your welcome to sit in. A bit closer than pete, downham market
  3. Its also a pain in the arse to have to get someone to fix! Your car when you could just change the wheel and be on your way.
  4. Assume nothing! Sluggish starter, check battery voltage off charge, then an hour after, a dropping voltage could indicate a poor battery. Full lights on, then try and start, if worse then battery.
  5. My tail pipe looked rusty! 360 wet and dry, followed by 800 then 2000 with cleaning paste. Then drill with buffing and black block followed with buffing pad and white block. All finished with a cloth and fire cleaning paste. Almost a mirror finish from rusty look!
  6. Like your garage floor pete. I need to get something to cover mine as i get more dirty from the floor than the car! All done myself. Managed to take off the old without distroying it, so if anyone needs bits.
  7. Nice one pete. He is all sorted now, just needs a tyre as the ones i had are far past there best!
  8. Lots of lining up before final clamping! Then hope it does not leak!
  9. I like shine but im too lazy to go mad on polishing. The exhaust looks good though, i better get on and fit it. Don't waist your money on rimmers fitting kit! Does not replace all the joiners and the bolts are not long enough to go through the clamps supplied!!!
  10. Click on my round icon, then click on the envelope icon should do it.
  11. Noooooooooo, its a slippery slope. Just getting out of trailering for repair!
  12. Give us a pm, work four on/off . On second day off.
  13. Got lots, free come and get if your near downham market, norfolk (its camb border side)
  14. Could have overtaken a few times!😄😆😅 Overdrive top it was average about 1500 rpm. 3rd flicking between overdrive on and off in town. Pulled quickly from 1000rpm and started to take off from 1500! Only really started to open up an the way home.
  15. I think it can go on now Thats as far as my madness will go
  16. Polishing the end of the exhaust before putting it on! From this To this
  17. Best, let water out and protect the inner metal
  18. Another thought was, water in the brake fluid. When it got hot it turned to gas, if you had been braking heavily. Then pushed out or returned to water? Maybe over thinking!
  19. Leave open, but spray wax oil or similar in
  20. Alot of people under rate these cars, even in standard form. Our little run on sunday reminded me why i love them. On the way home i frustrated a big audi that he could not shake me, in the end he had to seriously thrash his car to pull away a little bit! Even my mark 1 would leave most at the lights! Its good to see the prices on the rise, thus bringing them out of the banger racers clutches.
  21. I have managed to pull out the cam follers with the head on, saves the head coming off but by the time the radiator and other items are off to gain access? But if after having the performance increased the head off and some port to gasket matching with some smoothing of ridges would help.
  22. Always bought the r type for as long as i can remember, well ever since my mw radio used to buzz without, remember those days when your main concern was the radio working.
  23. Loved bunnings, loved the sale when it went back to homebase. Bought up alot of aeg tools and battery's. The tools have been great for all the work on the car and house, but i do miss bunnings and would want to get the 9ah battery! For the chainsaw.
  24. I wanted to get leather style to match in with the alfa seats I put up front. The contact i have had the leather style base but not the back, mine being an estate makes it a bit more difficult to find. He does have other sets if you need to swap. Pm me if you want his details.
