  1. And on the TR5 trailing arms we had a stud that went missing. Every single one that side was helicoiled.. exept that one. Bought an m10 to m8 adaptor, needed a little bit of machining (by my uncle and his Myford lath) But it worked great !
  2. Yesterday.. another busy day on the TR5 PI Builded up the left side, sandblasted the drums and painted them, put the exhaust under it. And in the late evening..... time for a testdrive 😅 No more vibration, knocks or other strange noises. It sure is a beast.. Next is gearbox tunnel out to fix the reverse light switch.
  3. Why I actually looked underneath.. The diff , shafts , uj's etc. Got noises, sometimes knocking, can feel play.. And yes the diff has some endfloat. The plan is to put my old one back into it, check shafts and uj's.. but im pretty sure i'm going to replace them to. That will be in 2 or 3 weeks times, when the TR5 is back on the ground. A video of the diff endfloat. 20230213_154218.mp4
  4. Did inspect the underside of Fox in the beginning of the week at my work. A teacher came to have a look and said I looked nearly like new 😅 Will need to put her on the lift once more and paint a few marks, but all is well with the Gravitex.
  5. A guy asked me to weld his Stag. Many holes in floor and sills where filled with black silicone and then a good layer of underseal over it... I gave up.
  6. And we did some more work on a long saturday... Right driveshaft is fitted, but not on the pic. Now left to do is.. Fit everything on the left side Connect handbrake cables Paint drums and fit them ....
  7. I've build the shaft up more. In the next few weeks I will be putting them on Fox probably due to a noise I have. And maybe change the diff once again to..
  8. Drive Your Triumph Day Invitation from Rye Livingston of the Triumph Travelers Sports Car Club in Northern California to celebrate Sir John Black's Birthday on February 10th. Go for a drive in your Triumph and take a photo. The photo is mainly of the car, and the owner or passenger if possible, ideally in front of a cool spot, landmark, scenic view or in your driveway. If it’s the middle of the winter where you live and your car is in hibernation, or in the middle of a restoration, take a photo of it in the garage. Have fun with it. Then email a high-resolution photo to driveyourtriumphday@gmail.com, along with some basic information: owner’s name, year and model of car, and place photo was taken (city, state, country). The photos will be published in the club newsletter, in the USA’s national magazine: Vintage Triumph Registry, and on the Drive Your Triumph Day website: https://driveyourtriumphday.shutterfly.com
  9. And today done some Spitfire stuff. And of them was to build another shaft .. Only need to drift the bearing housing a bit deeper.
  10. Some more TR5 pics of yesterday. I think we can now try and fit stuff back 😅 Did also paint the diff of the 5.
  11. Oh.. and we did fit bushes on the trailing arms of the TR5. Previous we tried with his press.. But was very hard to do. He didnt gave studding, so yesterday took some with me from home. 5mins and they where in. Just need a bit of help from some pliers 🙃
  12. Yesterday again helped a friend out. Was planning to work on his TR5... but his TR250 bonnet and bootlid was ready to refit at the painters... So did that, incl fitting various brackets that we repainted under the bonnet. And I could drive it home 🙃. But we first stopped at the new owners home to show her. Now just the badges needed to be put on. Then PCV... It was disconnected and the breather system didnt work great.. so pushing oil out out of the engine. And you cant buy the correct hoses anymore.. So... made something out of a Spitfire coolant hose 😅
  13. You are right.. Bpost charges already for there paperwork alone.. then tax. So rather would let them ship from Bulgaria. But thanks Alan for the link ! But.. I did buy some su needles from Minispares UK. Saved me a lot on money. Belgian supplier : 43 euro/needle Germany: 25 to 33 euro/needle Minispares: like 10 euro, but with tax etc 17,25 euro/needle incl shipping. Then jets... Belgian supplier.... 63 euro for 1 jet ! Bought some at Bastuck germany.. 19,25 euro/jet 😅 Like now I need an armrest kit from Owen (Park lane) He asks 45 euro, here its like 120 to 150 euro for the kit.. And I know Owen make a good kit and can choose the same grain as the rest of the interior.
  14. Yeah been thinking that to. But couldnt find my pack in the shed 🤔 Typical ! 😅
  15. A few weeks ago noticed the rubber gaiters on my ball joints leaking grease and going bad.... again ! Top ball joint, from march 2020. 2 Times replaced the ball joints and 6 times replaced the rubber. I was now really getting fed up. Found a company in Bulgaria called Polyboots etc. They sell them in rubber and poly. Bought poly ones, now to test them ! Sadly no clips with them, so used stainless wire to secure them. (Ofcourse the ones I orderes for the track rod ends where... to big).
  16. Imperia Nessonvaux In 2021 it all flooded badly.. Before and... Note. part of the roof testtrack.
  17. Yes, i've heard a lot if this place. Want to visit the place for years. But last year or so a lot of floods.. The old factory was fully under water abd the Imperia museum.. fully washed out.
  18. When I was driving home yesterday night.. noticed scratches on the windscreen in my sight.. They come from the wipers, dont know why as they are still good. I remembered i've one done a TR6 of a friend his windscreen with an ebay kit.. Found the kit in my shed... after 8 years at least 😅 It did work really well, but ran out if polish 😑 I truelly hate windscreens now..
  19. Yesterday helped out witg the TR5 of my friend. Well, the last 6 weeks acrually. But we are into the paint stage. Some bushes need to be fitted in the trailing arms and.. then fit everything back. Now it was mostly derusting and paint. We used 2K Novol chassis paint as primer where we had done 'Tanik' (belgian rust convertor). And then we will stonechip it all.
  20. Never had that. But going to look into the handbrake etc stuff sunday. So could be handbrake related.
  21. Now... I've got a nasty knock, knock at the rear since 3 days. Only happens once each journey and mostly when I leave somewhere after I have parked for a while. Yesterday inspected every bush, every bolt etc etc. Halfshaft hubs not hitting anything inside the drum. UJ need a goo look at, 5 years old now and... 120.000kms/74.500miles. Do these have been really good. Cant find anything bad.. Cleaned out the drums etc. As that needed to be done anyway. Can only find a little bit of play at the leaf spring eye bushes (everything is poly exept those). I know these bushes can give a knock to, had this years ago. Hope its not the diff, but it turns nice etc. Will see what to do. Leaf spring eye bushes is also not a fun job with spring on the car 🙄
