  1. Windscreen washer motor was getting wet and rusty. So it was leaking, yesterday fitted a new one. Then it was spraying right over Fox right on to the inside of the garagedoor.. great 😆 Adjusted my twin jets from a classic Mini (very hard to set up...) Now sort of work, only need more adjustments or other jets.
  2. Needed a spacer for my gearbox. Could not be bought new and could not find second hand, exept in usa.. 25 dollar 🙄. My uncle has been busy the last 3 weeks learning to work with his 2nd hand lathe he bought a year ago. So he made a spacer 😅. Made on a british Myford for a british car 😁
  3. Long time I took pics of Fox fully ! Got her inside the car mechanic class at work today, as I needed to load stuff for work tomorrow. It was very wet outside 😅
  4. Ordered some parts and they arrived today! So another 'project'... yes I got to many. (Thinking of a new dash to the last 2 weeks 😅 ) This will be build up as 'Spare assembly'. Honestly I can say that i'm rebuilding these shafts. I knew a local so called Triumph Specialist that swaped over half shafts (and many other parts) between a Spit he sold and his private car 🙄 .
  5. Something like this ? My main this is.. screen needs to come out for paint anyway. When that will be... really dont know 🙄😔 But my think is.. is the sealant easy to remove then.. Maybe better put some 'dumdum' around it.
  6. Then... she was ready. Got the seal alround the glass, tyre fitting lube sprayed around the seal and screen surround. Then my helpers arrived First time she popped up when pulling the rope at the side. So a 2nd try and done. 15min from when my helpers arrived until it was fitted, not bad !
  7. Yesterday took the windscreen out. To find more rust then in those 8 years before.. Needed some more welding etc All that was done, this afternoon (when sun shines on the front end of Fox) will put the new screen in.
  8. Think you all know what I will be doing this weekend 😅😅 Anglo Parts wanted to work with me for once. So reserved a new windscreen of the 2 they got laying, normally they never do that. Will go after it tomorrow evening.
  9. I know Cai to, bought some parts from him. Really want to visit him for a few years, very helpfull guy ! Ron Verlaan in the Netherlands I know to, helpes me out from time to time 😆.
  10. Noticed something near work this morning.. 1,5 year old screen..
  11. I only discoverd him since brexit.. But he does give a great service. One time something different arrived then what I ordered. I needed to send it back and he paid the shipping , sended the right parts straight away. He does have some rare parts at very good prices to, even NOS.
  12. Spitfire scheune (Translated... Spitfire Shed 😆😆)
  13. In Germany they sell these and the normal ones. Significantly longer service life due to the nitrated running surface on the needle bearing
  14. I have full assemblies from TD Fitchett fitted in 2018. Now done 57.000miles 😅😅 I just wanted 1 or 2 rebuild shafts as spare part.
  15. Yesterday got dome more half shafts apart.. The 2 that where under Fox until 2018 and did 160.000miles. First one not so bad. But could feel an little edge.. then the second one... think this made most of the noise in 2018.. My new hub puller did it great. Did have another rusty half shaft. Noticed the hub was bend and lots of play at the bearings, 150% sure shaf is scrap. So... a lot of scrap in this post 😅
  16. Found a pic this evening from lockdown 2020. Wiper parking switch failed again, fitted a new one, week later again bad. I was fed up and had time. So made this with a waterproof micro switch, it was very tight of space ! You know what? After 2,5 years it still works great !
  17. Had a look at some old half shafts i've had laying about. Took the one with lots od play (and missing hub) first to take apart. I already knew that the shaft would have been scrap. And oh yes... lots of scoring. Still need to take the other 3 shafts apart now. Build up 1 bearing carrier with new bearings etc. As I had bearing kits in my stock for years. Next week I can use a press and impact, so that would make it easier. Test fitted my new hub puller to. And repainted a bunch of parts. This is a job I wanted to do for many years, just want 1 or 2 spare rebuild shafts laying about.
  18. Ok, thanks you both. Had a play this evening. Now got it pretty right. Pic at 105 ohm (1/4) And another pic at 65 ohm (3/4) Empty was now adjusted and more correct, full was also spot on. Will see now how it goes
  19. Found this online Went after a potentiometer and tested my gauge Well nearly spot on empty needs adjusting. But first found another problem. Seems the 10v feed and wire to sender was switch over on the gauge.. After I switched them, the readings where better with the potentiometer. Sadly cant find out where the wires should go, pics on the internet doesnt help. Last pic, 20ohm and showing full.
  20. Found a nice article on how to do it now Time to buy a 1K ohm potentiometer and test it. https://www.mgexp.com/article/how-to-adjust-the-fuel-gauge-sender.140
  21. When I fitted the new sender it wasnt right to. Needed to band the arm to get sort of the same reading at the original one. I adjusted empty and full. First pic with connectors loose 2nd pic with jumper wire to earth.
  22. Im still surprised of all the switch gear that works so brilliant 😅 Now to fix the (only a bit) dodgy fuel gauge. Full is 3/4 for tge past 5 to 6 years. Now with the new sender the same, but empty is still a bit to high. Found out you can adjust the gauge. So had a go at that, made an temporary extention on the gauge wiring. So could adjust it easier. Will see now how it works out 🙃 .
  23. More contact cleaning and fixing today.. Wanted to fit the cleaned up indicator switch, then the wire broke of the wiper stalk when removing it all from Fox. Couls get the stalk out, re-attached the wire and done. But.. single wipe worked 11 times out of 10, not the last years. Cleaned it all.. fixed. All fitted back and works great.. for now 😄
  24. For years I had problems with my horn not working very well. Found out the stalk/switch always burned it. Now I was getting annoyed.. So fitted a relay and now works great ! And no load on the switch anymore. Found a good, non broken indicator/high beam/horn stalk in my stock. Cleaned all the contacts etc and now works, just need to fit it. Current one has loads of play..
