  1. Hi all ,have not been on here for a while! Am in process of replacing main loom on my 81 tr7 soft top ,the original was giving probs ,feed up trying to repair ,suppose after 40 odd years ? Got one from Auto Sparks , wheeler dealers got theirs from same, however ,not as straight forward as the prog said ,!!!!!, Prob is the connections to existing fuse box, was thinking off changing to blade fuses rather than keeping original box ,anyone got any info on this ? have you done a swap ,what type of box needed etc ,if changed, prob is don't know how to remove existing wiring from old box , tried to pull out from back ,but loom connections pretty stiff ,any info would be gratefully appreciated, Thanks Ray
  2. Hi thanks for reply.managed to get it done, had loads of info from the tr7 clubs, part built pump into cage and inserted with plenty lube on cage and block body ,used the impeller nut screwed home and tapped into place with rubber mallet ,no leaks now so looks ok ,if it does leak again ,know the procedure to redo , unfortunately can't get new impeller so will need to keep eye on it ,thanks to all who replied
  3. Hi all, Hope someone on here can help, justrefurbished tr7 ,1981 car and now doing waterpump,as it was leaking at the engine block hole below pump coast outlet ,got refurb kit from Rimmer Bros ,who I must say provided a great service in supplying parts ,ordered late on Thursday and received next day ,am not a employee !!!!!!. On completion of rebuild cannot get pump to locate fully into housing ,manual states do not force or hammer into place ! it fits in so far but will not locate further to accommodate pump cover, before completion of rebuild,I tried brass cage in its recess , it only went in about sat 70/80 %,was tight .so have assumed that this is the problem ?,watched a tube video from Rimmer Bros re stag pump, with all intent and purposes, looks very similar to tr7,I think it was obviously a new pump being fitted ,but it located without any problems, fully inserted into block ,have checked my block opening and all seems ok? In the position I am getting ,not fully home ,can still turn crank shaft ,and pump turns,,so obviously pump shaft engaging with jackshaft ,do not want to tamper to much with block opening at this moment , the brass cage is good as is the block opening ,the cage will need to sit its top lip flush with block ,any ideas . Thanks Ray
