  1. Thanks Colin, yes the good old Haynes manual suggests 5 strokes of grease every 12000 miles so I thought I'd better do as I'm told. Appreciate your advice. Paul
  2. Hi, Does anyone know what size grease nipple to use to lubricate the steering rack, or perhaps which part number? Thanks, Paul
  3. Thanks Johny. Will have a look
  4. Ah thank you Colin, I had visions of having the whole dash off and draining the coolant etc but seems a lot more straightforward 🤞
  5. Does anyone have any experience with TR7 heater control malfunctions? The right hand lever feels disconnected/loose at the top and then refuses to go to the bottom, seems to veer to the right. The left hand lever will go as far as fan speed 1 but no further. All feels mechanical, as if the two levers are colliding or derailed and it doesn’t seem obvious how to get to the mechanism behind the dash. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks, Paul
  6. Haven’t been out in mine for a few weeks but we have a few sunny, dry days coming up so very tempted. The roads here in Sussex are coated white with salt but presumably it’s pretty safe if they’re dry and, therefore, there is no spray? Anyone risking it at the moment? Paul
  7. That’s really useful Dave. I think I’ll go with your tried and tested recommendation. Good news about the exhaust helping a little. Must admit it sounds really good, better than a standard one I’d imagine (although my TR7 is the only one I’ve driven or even been in!), presumably due to the lack of baffling so that makes sense. I’ve only had the car 2 months and I must say I’m chuffed to bits with it. And still haven’t seen another one since I got it, so a rare beast. Paul
  8. Just 8. Very few had the 16 valve Dolly Sprint head
  9. Oh, sorry, it’s the one seen in my profile. Bog standard 81 Drophead. Has a stainless exhaust but not a sports one as far as I know and standard manifold so I assume that doesn’t make a difference
  10. Mmmm, some differences of opinion then. Thanks chaps. Paul
  11. I’m about to fit some shiny new air filters to my TR7. Does anyone have any experience of this, and in particular whether it is necessary to change the carb needles for a richer mixture? And if so which ones? Did the carbs need a lot of fettling afterwards?😩 Many thanks, Paul
