  1. Thanks for the replies. I always wanted to work on it myself but time has slipped by and I can't see a start in the foreseeable future. It probably hasn't run in over 10 years now so needs a bit more than a service and a tinker. I wanted to be driving it before it becomes a retirement project, although retirement isn't that far away now! Where did that time go. I thought a running car would get me using it and having some fun. Not in a huge rush as the 'new' plan was to get it worked on over the winter so it is ready for next summer. I would have preferred to go to the local meeting to chat to others but that isn't possible at the moment. Therefore, hoping there may be some local members on the forum, before I ring up and hassle David Smith. It must be bad enough being an organiser anyway without a stranger ringing up to pick his brains. Thanks again Gary
  2. Forgot to say, preferably in the Coalville area. Or even a mobile mechanic. Thanks Gary
  3. Hi all I am hoping someone can help. After several years of my Sptifire 1500 being off the road, first standing outside and then inside a garage, I have decided to get it back on the road. I have owned the car for 30 years and I have only ever used one mechanic, who has now retired. Although I have a local garage that is good for our modern car I really want someone who knows about classic cars. I am not looking for concours condition restoration but something for everyday use. Any recommendations would be gratefully received. Gary
