That TR5 has been completely rebuilt, chassis up, by the owner. It is fighting back with lots of new parts failing. Yesterday was one of its first runs since back on the road. It was running beautifully.....
Mike
I feel the pain. Had similar problems last year with having to re-fix the things I thought I had already fixed due to issues with parts. Got there in the end though, until the next time 🙄

The dolly, dark blue TR5 and Red herald convertible were all from the Cambridge area plus the TSSC chairman in a red VW Polo! Not sure if any of our cars have TSSC, CT stickers. A couple of the TR6 guys had done the RBRR so guess are CT members.
Good fun morning with some interesting cars, nice to see a mix range of classics. Bacon bap was excellent.
Would certainly go again. The Red 13/60 is mine, 1500 EFI (MS3 ECU), mapped ignition, OD, gearbox with GT6 ratios, 3.89 diff. Have owned it for ~15 years.
Mike
Hi Mike, I was in the very green Spitfire which does have a TSSC sticker. As I said to NonMember, I would be interested to hear about you setup at some point.

Ahh, right, would have liked to have seen the EFi setup as I have a 1500 in my Spit. Hopefully will get to do so on another occasion

Great meeting this morning at least eight of the Triumphs were TSSC members with Northants and Cambridge areas in attendance
Is yours the aformentioned green Herald ?

Looking at the TSSC Cambridge page again post meet, I believe the Dolly Sprint, The Blue TR5 and the Red Herald are theirs. If so, I believe the Herald has Vitesse running gear.
Also, unfortunately, it appears the lovely, and no doubt expensive, TR5 didn't make it home in as dignified s manner as it might have liked 🥺

Well Nene Valley is almost exactly where the car meet was so I expect I will be seeing it again.

It would be interesting to know what windscreen badges are on the Triumphs and if any relate to the TSSC, Club Triumph or other organisations.
I was looking for TSSC stickers but didn't notice any, although that doesn't necessarily mean there weren't any. Some of the members from Cambridge said they were planning to attend on their Facebook page but as I have never actually met them I can't confirm of they were there or not.

That the thing, every time i start each week its a day later. This week saturday, next sunday and so on. Then if it lands on the day im off as long as i have not been booked to do something! Then there is a good chance.
Well although not announced yet, I would expect the next meet to be on April 24th

i contemplated this but didnt get up early enough for an hours blast up the A1
such is life pleased you had a good sunny day out

There were still people arriving well after 11, in fact people constantly arriving and leaving. When I counted there were roughly 80 cars but in total I would say over 100 attended s some point. Also, quite a few people in modern cars turning up to have a look.

Its nice to know and great to see the pictures . Working shifts its difficult to get to events. Last night i was working nights, i won't be finished till Wednesday morning, then back sunday night.
This seems to be on every 2 weeks at the moment. Does that mean it's always going to conflict with your shifts or might it work out for you sometimes?
-
But if nobody did go then maybe there's little point in advising when these meets are on. So if anyone does want to know when they are on, please tell me and I will be happy to do so.

Did you identify any of the Triumph owners as contributors here?
No, I didn't, although if anyone was there and reads this then feel free to let me know 👍

Just realised the theme for this next meeting will be Triumphs, so I believe any that go will be given pride of place, all together.
According to the TSSC Cambridge Facebook page, several members from that area are planning to attend tomorrow morning.

Just to follow up on this thread, and as it's particularly relevant at the moment, I definitely seem to be getting significantly better fuel consumption since replacing the distributor. The last 2 tanks used worked out at 34 & 36mpg whereas previously I was getting around 30.
Also, apart from running better & feeling more lively, I can now get a stable tickover 👍
Overall, £40 well spent and probably soon paid for in saved fuel costs if they stay at these sort of prices.

I don't think I know Ramsey, but if that's where they wear baggy grey tracksuits, push prams and have loads of piercings and tattoos... and betting shops... sounds about right.
