  1. Back in the day I ran the 2.5 PI engine in my GT6, This fitted fine, bar the distributor where I had to loose the rev counter drive. so why not use the PI intake and just update with electric injectors and a fuel rail. Perhaps the PI intake is hard to find? Just an idea as would have the same performance yet <<<<<£
  2. My servo is on all 4 wheels, I have 3/4 manual rear cylinders. The brake bias is too strong on the front and it locks front wheels too easy. I need to get more work out of the rears. Smaller rear cylinders will give less rear braking, not more. Putting the servo on the front only will massively alter the bias to the front, not the rear. The braking system is all in good condition. Are there any shoes available with a higher friction coefficient perhaps? I thought I was on to something with the 7/8 cylinders but can't get any to see if I can make them fit. I would add that I am fussy about brake balance and am considering building a bias peddle assembly with duel master cylinders to get what I want, however that will bring its own problems as I will have the servo in the front line only but I'm sure I could get the bias right by adjusting master cylinder sizes. Not sure I like the idea of servo to one end only as if you loose vacuum you have a potential death trap with locking rear wheels. Rob
  3. Ah didn't know late mk3 was like that, so I imagine you must use the wheel cylinder that has the correct backplate to piston centreline dimension otherwise the piston will probably buckle as it is not pushing my shoe in the middle. Do you think I could fit the wide drum and shoes to my backplate? this would give me more braking effort with the 3/4 pistons that are available
  4. Thanks Guys, yeh spoke with Paddocks and they say the 3/4 self adjusters are all that is available so I have sent them back. Disappointed that they don't say on the web site what size they are. But they did say on the phone that they only sell them in pairs, thereby acknowledging that they are wrong! That first link looks promising, might be worth a punt at £50 , shame you can't see the backplate side to see if the handbrake slot is in anything like the same place. Perhaps I should fill you in a little more about my requirements, I have a Mk2 from the USA and it came with some shi* split braking system that I changed to a single system with a remote servo. Much better, however I am not satisfied with the front to rear brake balance, it locks the fronts up too easy, particularly in the damp / wet. I have 3/4 manual adjusters at the moment and am quite capable of adapting things, I had considers boring out some 3/4 housings and making my own pistons as you can get the seals. However there isn't enough meat in the cylinder to do this. I'm sure I can adapt a self adjusting cylinder to a manual set up or at worst convert to a manual self adjuster like I did on a Sprint by just drilling a hole in the drum so I could adjust from outside. Or are there any variations on front calliper I should look for ? There appears to be reference to metric and imperial, are the pistons different sizes? Rob
  5. Well, I ordered and have received 3/4 ones that I don't need. Ahhhhhhhhhh Doug Fancy selling yours?
  6. Thanks, I've never heard of Paddocks, I'll give them a call 😊
  7. Hi I'm looking for a pair of 7/8 rear wheel cylinders, yeh I know they are not available new so I'm looking for something I could refurbish as I believe rimmer brothers can supply the seals Thanks Rob
