  1. You’re spot me wearing this 😂
  2. Dare I say the weathers looking good for the weekend. Am I brave enough to risk a 100+ mile round trip in the old girl? Probably not. Daily driver to the rescue 😄
  3. I found a couple of these bolts similar to what you described, although these are 1 1/2” in length I can cut down if nec. Cheers.
  4. Thanks Colin the chromium bolts I found from my stock confirms what you described. I think I have the dimensions of the tubed spacers required now too. So I think I’m all sorted 😄 Cheers.
  5. Good morning Peeps, I have a pair of rear door cappings I wish to refit to my mk2 saloon Can anyone provide me the length of the chrome fixing bolt, measured from beneath the head to the end of bolt and also the dimensions of the long spacer tube that inserts through wooden door capping please. ( I have the sprung washer and shorter shouldered spacer to use ) Thanks for your help Steve
  6. Kin’ell what a knob!
  7. Thank you trigolf 👍🏻 Btw (I moved my posting from this thread back to my original posting ‘Steel Wheels’ under the Chassis, Suspension & Steering Section. As i inadvertently made a reply posting in wrong Section. Hope that makes sense.)
  8. Thanks for your reply, I do not have the hub caps to fit, so happy to use standard nuts, but I wasn’t familiar with that. Cheers 👍🏻
  9. Update: I’ve just taken a punt and bought a set of 5x13 Dunlop rims for my Vitesse, Listed to suit Triumph 1500/ Herald /Vitesse/dolomite. I hope to have these by next weekend. I now need to find a set of wheel nuts to suit. I understand these should be 3/8” UNF size, presumably other car makers eg mini would be compatible to use too? Or if anyone has a set to sell please pm me. TIA Steve
  10. I went along to last year’s event I was surprised how small the circuit was. i used to really enjoy watching Rally Cross from Lydden on tv back in the day, think it may have even been in black & white 🤔 I hope to go again this year 🤞
  11. Thank guys found that very informative 👍🏻
  12. Hi All Out of interest, these style wheels would be my preferred choice for my mk2 Vitesse (see library photo attached). I don’t know what style wheel these are known as, and assume they are as fitted to Gt6’s Would all the GT6 variants be suitable? Also is the ET size common irrespective of rim width ie 4.5”, 5.0” or 5.5” Thanks in advance
  13. Bet you wish you still had the 2002 tii, I miss my e21 323i fitted with a 2.8 lump. Ive also had an e30. 3x e46 330’s Was considering a Z3/4 the other week, think I’m on the wrong forum 😂 Apologies for going off topic!
  14. At the moment I have only placed an advert here in the classified section, but will certainly mention the Tssc to any potential owner if advertised elsewhere. No I’m not looking for another classic car, think that’s run its course. I might return to motorbikes if anything. Dare I say I’m quite passionate about my 2005 e46 300d Touring…….I’ll get my coat.
  15. Unfortunately due to lost enthusiasm, I am considering selling my Vitesse mk2 saloon , has 5 speed, CV driveshafts. Needs tidying, will list in classifieds in near future.
  16. Thanks for your reply Pete, I’ll see if I can get this checked. All this computer stuff is beyond me, how I ‘ve managed to survive so far is a miracle! I dread to think what I’m going to do when the facial recognition system misbehaves and I can’t get through the front door into my own home one day!
  17. Has anyone else had this? l’m stumped as to know why or how this has occurred, and ‘what’ messages are they referring to?
  18. 1954 was a Goodyear 😄
  19. Has anybody fitted a front wheel drive lump into their Vitesse? 😆 .........I’ll get my coat! 😂
  20. Finally got around to taking the car out yesterday and trying the @Wagger method with engine off coasting downhill. Before I set off I depressed the brakes numerous times to empty servo. (Brought back early memories of sitting in heavy downhill holiday traffic in Cornwall in my Corsair, coasting slowly with engine off, was ok until the servo emptied….. oh #%ck!! rock hard pedal and useless brakes. Not to be repeated !) So back to the Vitesse, if I managed to empty the servo successfully, the brakes still felt effective during that little test, i won’t be looking to remove the servo anytime soon, especially as I have been buying lots of bits and pieces for the car with the intention to do those future jobs, trouble is, finding bits is easy finding the motivation to start is harder! 🫤 What to do going forward remains unclear at the moment 🤦🏼‍♂️
  21. I’m kinda pleased for you, that you walked away. From what I understand from your search criteria, I didn’t think that car was really for you. As they say I’m sure there is one out there for you, you just need to be patient. Good luck.
  22. Here’s a piston stop I made from an old spark plug, which I copied from a YouTube clip. Worked fine. 👍🏻
  23. My Servo is mounted sideways, and sits above the clutch m/cyl. checking fluid level a little awkward but is doable.
  24. Thanks for your replies, @Waggerl like your simple suggestion regards to rolling down the hill with engine off - not short of hills here! Pleased I don’t have the steering lock/ignition version 🙂 I’ll be keen to try this experiment out whenever possible and let you know. (Need to recover from an ankle sprain first)
