  1. I'm attempting to change the oil pressure switch on my car, something that you would think is a five minute job!!! It appears to be seized solid, and an extra problem is that neither imperial , or metric spanners seem to be an exact fit. Obviously a ring spanner is not possible because of the bulb part. The consequence is that the flats have started to round off making things even more awkward. I have filed the flats down to the next size, but even then it won't budge. The switch is on some kind of extension that also incorporates the sensor for the oil pressure gauge, so would the solution be to try and remove the whole thing so I can get the switch in a vice, or does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can get it out in situ? Thanks.

  2. I have a Moss Malvern kit car with a GT6 Mk3 engine. It looks like I am going to have to have the cylinder head off, and I need to order the relevant de-coke gasket set. How do you know whether you have a recessed block or not? Is this done purely by engine number? Any advice would be appreciated.

  3. Hi Clive

Yes it used to work fine. Its recently come back from a body shop after a re spray, since then it has not worked. I asked the painter if he knew of anything he may of disconnected, but he doesn`t.

As I say, there is very little room inside the engine bay and is very restricted unless you are 2 foot tall with a triple articulated neck and arms! But I will persevere!

    Thanks for your help.

  4. I have a Moss Malvern based on a GT6 Mk3. Space within the engine bay is very restricted, and I am trying to locate where the water temperature sensor is located. The gauge has stopped working, and I am trying to eliminate all possible problems. The Haynes manual has it in the thermostat housing, but mine is not there. Does anybody know where else it could be located.

    Thank you.

  5. I love belonging to this club!!

Many thanks for all the advice, it is much appreciated. I have a Moss Malvern with GT6 Mk3 running gear, but the further I delve into the way it was put together (very well for the most part), the more complicated things become as other components seemed to have been used. I`ll get there though!
