POR-15 only really works on rusty metal, it doesn't stick to good metal, don't ask me how I (and others) found out. 😞
Might be OK on blasted steel as it will have a rough coat.

Not that im wishing my life away but only 2 3/4 years till my first pension kicks in. Not that i have plans to retire, my wife won't let me!
Don't listen to her. At the first opportunity leave a set of 11's across the work car park, I can never understand why people work a single longer than they need to.

I have 3 different wheelbarrow systems, a Phoenix on the Mk3 Spitfire, that is quite refined, I had a Bell on my Mk2 ( with Mk4 engine) and that was loud and popped and banged, great fun round the lanes, too noisy on a run.
The TR6 has a Falcon system (I think) and that is LOUD. But sounds great, and does quieten a bit a cruising speeds. But boot it and it sounds fantastic.

What does the little plate say?
anything on the box?

There has been stories of the new Lucas alternators being poor quality, not needed to try one myself.
You could also look for an A127, make sure it has the single fan belt rather than the ribbed pulley.
Mk3 Escorts and Transits were a source I thunk.

Double check your numbers... 🙂
a 1200 belt is 11.2cm longer, you need a 1100 for 1.2cm longer than your 1088.

When a friend purchased his TR6, it was loud, VERY LOUD, a previous owner had opened up the twin boxes and emptied them out, and welded them up again.
It had to come off, and a standard system was fitted ( in fact my standard system, need to get it back at some point) And he mentioned he had swapped it on a forum, and someone contacted him really keen to have the loud one, despite us telling him it was noisy.
Saw the guy a year or so later, and he had been forced to admit defeat and the exhaust had been changed again, I think pressure from his other half and neighbours had a lot to do with it.
anyway, GT6 are sensitive to loud exhausts as the resonate in the cabin.

Update...
Flywheel and back plate removed which has confirmed the crank seal has been leaking so thats a positive. However, it looks like the core plug has also been leaking, which iv read am a right ball ache to get out with the engine in the car.
Iv also read to cover the sealing edge in some sort of lock tight before fitting a new plug.
Im just hoping that this is the source of the water and not what appears to be slight corrosion on the block directly underneath the core plug 🤦♂️
I think talc left for a while to confirm
Is that not the other end of the camshaft, so I would not expect it to leak water.

That looks a very rusty clutch cover in the kit.
Assuming you purchased just the friction plate, is it the same make as the cover, as different plates need different covers, well certainly on 2000's so I assume same on Spitfires.

Can you look through the old magazines, and see what years the annual meet was where?

Paul, Clive probably had the gearbox rebuild by Bob, who went to work for Mark O'Malley out at Stoke Ferry after Clive died.
one thing to try, disengage OD before changing from 4th to 3rd. Couple of my cars crunch if I hurry a change down with OD engaged. Seems to be worse with a J-Type box.

£3.50 each still sounds cheap to me.

Both look suitable, assuming the Valvoline one is GL4.

I think you just need to reangle the bracket slightly, I had the same thing.
other option is a loose cable tie through the spring leaves and under the pipe to support it upwards.

Or perhaps they are just early Mk1 2000 hubcaps?

The one that's puzzling me at present is 'expect the unexpected'... surely if you're expecting it....?
Ah yes, but you never expect the Spanish Inquisition.

I always clamp the UJ spider in the vice, shaft can't rotate that way.
And I have a 3ft breaker bar and put all my weight on it to load the puller.
Occassionally they go as I jump, and it always catches me out and it really hurts as you hit the bench or floor.

Some was experimenting with making them, the printing material is not yet sufficient translucent to pass as acceptable

Looks like the GT6 one is only GT6 and not common with any other Triumphs.

Bend thembrackets slightly so the pipe is less likely to.rub n the halfw shaft.
or put a bit of rubber pipemround it as any marks on the braided covering should / will be a MOT fail

I read it as a request for a DAB tuner to add to a normal FM car stereo, rather than an adaptor to allow an FM aerial to be used with a DAB receiver.

I have the mortal remains of a 1971 Herald Estate that was sold New in Jersey. Was moved to the mainland in 1980/1 and was registered on a W plate, which I was told was normal at th time.
Did not get age-related until a few years later.

I don't think JB would have driven my one very far..........and I expect 'Q' would have got a right earful if he had!!

Was that the one where the tyres even squealed on gravel, now that is a trick Q would be proud of, that and fitting Bonds Stag with a Morris Minor engine.

I would have thought that an estate version could have been a good seller, Triumph had all the bits so the productions costs wouldn't have been prohibitive. The extra power being useful for a full load, maybe back then estates didn't have any appeal to the better off?
I wonder f it was thought to be a threat to another model in the range?

I didn't think you ever took that one out. It isn't in the kits I think.
it is always a dished one isn't it?
