  1. I have removed the head from my Bond Equipe GT4s.  The cylinder pressures were well down.  The PO supposedly had done a head job, the engine had  not run since.  It was a poor job with the mating surfaces of head and block not cleaned properly and a fluid test showed leaks from all combustion chambers.  The head had indentations where the recessed gasket had dug in slightly.

I have had a quote for fitting new hardened exhaust valve seats and a head skim of £200 ish.  So I am going to have it done, I am also going to fit new exhaust valves.  Is it worth replacing the inlet valves?

The guides are excellent so I am not going to fit valve stem seals.

  2. I have bought and I am restoring a 1968 Bond GT4s.  The one thing missing, which is causing me a problem, is the exhaust system.  It has the three stud manifold which I assume is Spitfire, I want to start with a down pipe and work from there.  Which would be best a Herald down pipe or a Spitfire one.  Any help gratefully received, I have asked elsewhere.
