  2. Hi All With great regret and with a tear, i am thinking about selling my 1970 Triumph GT6 Project Unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control i don't think i will be able to finish the car. I am wondering what peoples thoughts are. Whats it worth? Where to try and sell it?

The CJ autos look really good and no doubts will do the job but at £270 i cant really afford to spend that much hence the £100 ramps. maybe i should just wait and buy them.

i have already viewed that threat doesn't seem to give me the answer just that i need to machine mart extension parts. out of interest or if its not to much trouble it would be interesting to know what the H&L of yours are. the link i flagged was just an example i have found others similar price but look even better - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-TON-HEAVY-DUTY-HYDRAULIC-CAR-VAN-4X4-VEHICLE-GARAGE-JACK-METAL-RAMP-LIFT-PAIR/291664583894?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908131621%26meid%3D9ed69de674b3479f95133bb754fff647%26pid%3D100678%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D291664583894&_trksid=p2481888.c100678.m3607&_trkparms=pageci%3A78a31d29-f151-11e7-b12c-74dbd18046e4%7Cparentrq%3Ac150d25e1600abc642f576fdffe8c6e2%7Ciid%3A1 but don't want to spend £100 and for them not to be able to be used on either car. Thanks again

    Car Ramps

Happy New Year!!!! I hope everyone is feeling great after the Christmas break. 2018 is the year when i finally complete my GT6 (hopefully wife permitting) so i have decided that i need some car ramps. not only to use on the GT but also to use on my Porsche 924s i have seen the car ramp extensions at machine mart and wondering what peoples views of them are, also do we know what the degrees of the ramp will be with them? The reason for this is i have found on ebay some ramps that have jacks built in to them which sounds very useful. However i am not sure if i can use them with the GT6 as well as the Porsche https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FoxHunter-Vehicle-Car-Ramp-Lift-2-Ton-Hydraulic-Jack-Garage-Heavy-Duty-Red-x-2/252585769997?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l9372 i have worked out that the ramp is at 19 degrees and wondered if this is OK for the GT6. Does anyone have any ideas?
  7. Thanks guys I knew I could count on you. The toyo tyres from demon tweets are interesting I must say.
  8. Sorry to be a pain but I have a similar question but not sure if it was answered above. There is a possibility I missed it but.. i have a 1972 spitfire mkVI and I have some 5.5jx13 alloys to put on it. What are the best tyres to go for? There was a few replies saying 175/70 R13 is that the best? Also so I have found some extended wheel studs, is that a good idea to change? Thanks
  9. The car is my escape to however i am now going to be a dad for the first time so now the whole project is under threat. Thanks for the replies.
  10. Hi Guys Thanks for your replies. Feel better about spending that amount of money now. i have 3 paint shops in mind so will be going to all of them to see how good they are 2 on those have been recommended. The body work is in great condition in minimal rust. i didn't pay that much for the car so have a but of wriggle room as far as if its worth it financially. However i do not want to have to get it resprayed again. Thanks AndyC
  11. Hi All Its been a long time. i know this discussion has probably been discussed before but.. I am now the owner of a GT6 mk2, my friend made me an offer i couldn't refuse for the Spitfire. I have had the GT6 since December and i bought it off a friend who has now retired and moved away so had no room for the car at his new house. He has owned the car for many years and decided to fully restore it in 1993. He got so far before the effort dwindled and the car was left in the garage until December. The car is in good condition but the paint work has suffered and now looks and peels like orange peel. I have been to a few oh my local car painters and they all seem to be a similar price of £3500. When speaking to them they said in need to be taken back to metal and started again. There are some patches where the filler seams to be coming off the car and a few rust spots. Now i have saved up enough to get the car resprayed i have a few questions. 1. is £3500 a good price? 2. As its going back to bare metal, what colour should i get it painted in (my favorites are Valencia blue and British racing green)? Is there any pictures to compare colours As you can imagine i only want to do this once and now i have my first child on the way i want to get it done ASAP. Thanks AndyC
  12. Thanks but i think norfolk maybe to far. but i will give take some photos. Thanks
  13. i didnt think it was to bad just a bit holy but had a quote for repairs and the cost was £6500 without painting
  14. All I have had a quote to do some work on my spitfire and it was stupid amount of money. Before i give up on my dream i wondered does anyone know where i can get a full body tub from? Thanks
  15. All i have now taken the body tub off the chassie. i have had a go at doing the sills but i an not very good at body work. So have saved up enough (hopefully) to get it done by a professional. Does anyone know of any good painters/body work repairs near Studley Warwickshire? Any recommendations would be massively useful. Thanks
  16. Hi All Has anyone got an ideas or have already fitted a towing eye to there spitifre. Just so its easier if i breakdown (again). Thanks
  17. Thanks for you help guys i have made my mind up.
  18. Hi All Back after a 3 year absence. I have put 4 pot calipers on my GT6. I don't think I needs a servo but my friends do. I want to finally put this to bed. What does everyone think? Thanks Andy C
