Iirc my mates old one had a rocker switch on the dash that operated a relay. Ignition on. Switch on bingo.

mines a mesh one from an Audi A3. Easy fit and folds into a bag in the boot. Has a mesh cover over the back seat too

Any spitfire box can be fitted. Although the 1500 ones need some mods.

They are offset because of the width of the tunnel and the lack of wheel arch intrusion. Just a quirk of design. After 36 years I don’t notice it 😎

In the comfortable, north London suburbs in 85, when I bought my herald. Mgb/ midgets were fashionable amongst the late teens. Triumph was the left of centre choice. We enjoyed being the alternative underdogs ..
