Thread drift, how do you actually delete a complete thread?
Amazing!

I saw Peter L's reference to smooth pipes and John's reference to turbulence, this made me think. The original pipes were corrugated and must have formed some turbulence in the air flow,so I would think cause the air to slow, reduce volume per time, while smooth pipe would allow a quicker flow and larger volume per time.
Any thoughts people on this or am I just over complicating the matter considering the short length of pipe?
I do believe I read somewhere that turbulent air is better for carbs, which would suggest corrugated pipes were better.
Over thinking Graham.

I have electric fan with a capillary sensor and I believe you can buy an adapter to fit inside the house which allows the sensor to fit without causing leaks. I can't find a supplier. Anyone know of a supplier of these adapters?

Well never knew these existed, my GT6 came without.
Noticed Paddock's have them for £37 plus P&P.
Learnt something new, cheers.
Danny, out of interest how did you make them, attach a "U" shape metal to a backing plate or welded find to a plate.

1981 Spitfire purchased in 1984, first car I owned/ purchased. I still own it having restored it twice.
Told my wife when we married I would not sell it, two children later (now 30 plus) the car is part of the family.

Actually, I was thinking why are electric cars so boring in shape. You think that without radiators, large petrol engines/gearboxes people could design better/nicer designs.
You think this car was born from someone's mind.
Are our designers soooo boring!

Ps. Sorry been watching classic volts, amazing the electric motors/gearboxes are quite small, largest components are the batteries which are rectangluar /square.
Quite simple.

You should be able to make a screw driver between the bolt head and the od bracket. May need someone to hold it while you undo the but from underneath. I find the easier for my wife to hold the screwdriver than a spanner.

If you do not have the time then pass, nothing worst than having spent money to watch a car wait for your free time.
Agree shame about the mechanics not being comparable.

Agree with Dan, £2K for overdrive if you are doing it yourself seems a bit high unless you intend to have the gearbox and overdrive rebuilt by a 3rd party.

You need to take the bonnet off and lift the engine up and move the car back.you need to wiggle/adjust the engine as the car moves back. This means you only need to clear the front chassis rail.
