  1. Would be a very classy badge for the cars. Make them stand out, and the club. Graham
  2. Would you expect to have such a large washer in conjunction with a spring washer? Suspect these have been included by a previous owner with them being black. What work have you been doing? Graham

  4. Just looked at EBay violin cases are quite cheap but come with violins. So may be you can play them at the tables and earn money🤣 Graham

  6. Very nice. Like the string around the box, you caterpillar after his tools. Nice to see old packaging which I can remember seeing in motor factors years ago. Graham
  7. What fun you had, simple jobs can turn into a night mare. We all have days like that. At least you got the jobs done. Graham
  8. Milk comes from bottles not cows. Why do farmers always put gates where there is mud? Graham
  9. My god, give us a gearbox and we can strip it, rebuild in 2 seconds. Give us a survey and we are like headless chickens. Well that is one point for deriding members, another for chopping chicken heads, about for being a moderator and having a laugh. Just off to join John on the naughty boy step. Move over John. Graham😁
  10. Just looked at the survey and noted question two is not a required question (no red astrick). Chris is this intended or just an over sight? I am not criticising the survey just providing feedback? Not completed but will. Did we not complete a similar survey a number of years ago? Be interesting to compare the out of these two surveys. Graham
  11. A great lost to Great Britain, it is only when you have lost something that you realise how important they were. God rest her soul and thank you for your service. Graham A great mark of respect from the TSSC
  12. Good luck to all and safe journey. Graham
  13. One in Nottingham if some wishes to borrow it. Graham
  14. Originally the vent had a rubber bung which was pushed into it to seal it, not sure if this had an air hole. However people have fitted a micro bore pipe end cap. Not sure how the tank then vented to allow air to replace petrol used. Graham
  15. Watch Ethel and Ernest last night and spotted a Herald. Nice story. Thank you Raymond Briggs. Graham
  16. Colin, is that the colour of grass. We have a straw field in Nottingham. Nice to be reminded. Graham
  17. Very nice roads. Perfect day, things going well when working on the car, seems very rare now days. Just need to sort out the clutch slave cylinder on the GT6 to get it back on the road. Behind a load of DIY jobs since we moved last year.Graham Thanks for posting. Graham
  18. My understanding those can act as a receipt, goes back to when people wrote cheques. Also lifetime guarantees are the lifetime of the person who brought it not the linked to the tools, so if you buy second hand tools that you know have a life time guarantee and the original receipt tech ideally you are not covered. Interestingly I had a long guarantee on a battery from Halford if failed and when I took it back had to accept another battery with a shorter guarantee, as they had stopped stocking the longer guarantee ones.Graham Graham
  19. Roger, looked a wonderful trip and glad you both enjoyed it. You mentioned about running warm and I noticed the number plate was quite high blocking the radiator. May be worth moving down on your next trip. Your pictures are very enjoyable with your comments. Did you not do a similar trip a few years ago? Thank you for sharing. Graham
  20. What is the size of the part? It may help. Graham
  21. I agree. Iain your chose and your risk. Use GL 5 and is know what happens. Graham
  22. Thank you all for the advice and confirming way forward, now to find a local engineering shop to do the work. I have an idea on one. Cheers all. Graham
  23. Thank you for the responses, if I get it skimmed which I had considered the question still stands - paper or paper plus sealant or just sealant? I believe the distortion is very minor and localised to the welded area. Should have thought this one through
  24. Some time ago I fitted a single rail gearbox to a GT6 bell housing, the bell housing was altered and a tube welded to cover the selector shaft extending into the bell housing. I now have a leak due the paper gasket failing and a bit of distortion due to the welding. I have the gearbox out and the question is do I use a combination of sealant on both sides of the gasket or just use sealant? Using Wynnes black sealant recommended by my local garage. Graham
