What I mean is if I connect slave cylinder to gearbox with a new master cylinder how do know if the cylinder is working?? Pressure of the clutch pedal?? The piston is at the back of the cylinder when taking off the car. Had new master cylinder put on due to solid internal workings. Any ideas or tips how I can do this without damage.

Hopefully the car will be on the road this year, as I owe it to the car as it is 50 years old this August.

I start by saying hello as I'm new. But an old hand at working on our cars. Herald 1200 I have just able to turn the engine round by hand after 14yrs no problems. So if you see me bouncing around the rest of the forum asking for info. Then please do join in to help another piece of history on the road.
