  1. Hello all, I've just brought a new front side light but it's not as 'deep' as the original. It fits fine for length and height but the piece of metal that divides the indicator to the side light looks like it needs to be cut back to enable the new one to fit. Before I begin cutting has anyone else experienced this? Regards Rich

    heater

Hello, New to all this found madness - i've just flushed my vitesse heater matrix and loads of crud came out. My question is when I put the heater valve back it only seems to 'push' back onto the heater hose inlet (on the heater matrix) is this normal of should there be some sort of clamp? Also there was no temperature thermostat in the housing on the engine, should I get another or is this a normal 'modification'? Great posts and help, many thanks for helping a newbie classic car owner ;-) P.S sorry the car is a vitesse mk1 with smiths heater. Kind regards
  6. Hello all, Ive just received my new carpets for the vitesse, my question is for the sill carpets, is there supposed to be a retainer type bar with screws which hold the carpet in place by the sills? There seems to be some small holes which look like they take a self tapper but i'm not to sure. If there is supposed to be some retainer type fitments any idea where I can get them from? Thanks in advance Rich

    K&N Filters

Thank you for all the great and helpful replies. The reverse is next to 1st gear so I'll be gentle from standing starts ????. As for the SU carbs how can I tell that they are SUs and not strombergs? I will have a look again tomorrow but I'm sure there was only 2 bolts holding the back plates on so I suppose there HS4. Many thanks Rich

    K&N Filters

Hello all, Im very new to the classic scene and just brought a Triumph Vitesse 1967 Cabriolet. The engine has been changed to the 2.5 GT6/2500 along with the running gear and axle (i presume). My question is that the airfilters are missing and it currently has 2 x SU's (not sure what type/size) I would like to put on after market possibly K and N but could i ask what would be the best filters to put on it? I would need all the filter inc baseplate etc. Finally its great to be on here and even better to have the triumph Thank you in advance Rich
