I also have a question regarding my fuel pump. All of a sudden my pump has stopped working. Fuel is getting to the pump but no further. What is the cause internally in the pump. Just curious, I will buy a replacement pump, or do I buy a repair kit and is it possible to fit the repair kit without taking the pump off the car. thanks Andrew

All I will add to this is I bought mine from club shop and wow what a difference on starting up

It sounds like the horn is earthing itself. That is how the horn works as you push the horn button you earth the horn to complete the circuit. Try pulling the wheel and boss of the shaft about 5 mm Andrew

Ho all The car is 1971 Herald. The prob a si said before is a solid type. I have had it balanced by a pro and they added weights in the appropriate places. No vibration at all. I think i am looing for something to do as i have time on my hands.

Hello all i have been trying for the last couple of years to find the grease nipple on my prop shaft. So today had a good look all four wheels of the ground and I cannot find the blessed thing. After a bit of research I found the are three types of shaft a splined one a strap type one and a solid one. Is it possible to have a solid shaft with no sliding splines on and if so there would be no need for a grease nipple. Andrew

I have had this problem after replacing fuel pipes and yes I took the carb of removed the needle valve and yes there they were slivers of rubber blue it all out and replaced and all is well. I was a sceptic on the slivers issue until I saw them Andrew

Hi Bob I bought a SS exhaust for my 13/60 Herald from the club shop and it fitted perfectly and the quality is second to none. The only problem is i find myself polish the exhaust along with the rest of the car (Is there a cure for this) Andrew

Why not just but an aluminium rocker cover from the club shop. And the air box use smooth hamerite

Sorry guys also forgot to say I have a club shop fuel filter fitted before the pump

Hi all answers to question. It is defiantly a overflow problem as when the car is at rest and as soon as engine switch off no petrol leaks start up and it leaks again at the back and into the air filter box. No I have not changed the fuel pump. I have just ordered a new valve from James paddocks so when I have fitted it I will let you all know the outcome. Thanks for all your suggestions and help

Hi all I have aHerald 13/60 with a stromberg CD 150 carb. Had the carb overhauled four years ago by a professional place. On two occasions it is leaking fuel. I dismantled it did all the usual things tested the niddle valve by blowing through it and made sure the float cut the flow off. Made sure the floats were not punctured put it back together and all ok. But it has done it again. On my first trip out on a recent nice dry day. Any suggestions what the cause is and what to do to cure it. Thank you

Hello all I have been running my 1360 Herald with a 13 Lbs radiator cap. Unfortunately the radiator sprung a leak so bought a new one from a very Reputable supplier. The new radiator was fitted with a 7 Lbs cap. Car runs OK but what is the difference between the two regarding running temperature and are both OK. (The first one to say the difference is 6 pounds wins the bobby prize )

My engine number on my 13/60 herald starts with GK is this a normal for an engine number as I thought all the engines on this model herald are starring with GE.

Screw as far as possible with the rubber seal on the smooth part of the upright above the thread then turn back one complete turn this is to allow the steering to go from lock to lock
