  1. Hi everyone. I'm reassembling a 1970 Mk2 Triumph GT6 some of which I took apart and some of which a 'bodyshop' took apart about six years ago and they are no longer in business. I have a bag with the identity tags in, the big one is obvious and is fitted on the passenger side beneath the bonnet, it's the main identity/spec plate for the car but the second plate I have no idea where it was taken from. By the colour of it it must be a fairly clean location possibly on the inside of the cab area (possibly on the inner sill/footwell, both of which were replaced). Has anyone got an idea where this goes please??
  2. I am restoring a 1966 TR4A IRS. Both the parts car and my car have undercoating under the fenders. Did the car come with undercoating? (I had a 1965 TR4A IRS but I can't remember that far back)
  3. Hi guys, Having trouble fitting my 1972 Triumph GT6 MK3 that I am restoring. The bonnet isn't original to the car and when I bought it it had a poorly fitting fibreglass one on. The last owner sold me an original bonnet with it but not sure if it's off the same GT6. A lot of the body work has been replaced on the chassis and body including the hinge boxes and lower side panels of the body. I have attached pictures below of the bonnet is about an inch out at the moment. If anyone has any advice on how to resolve this issue I would be eternally grateful, as the problem is holding everything up at the moment. And I can't figure out why it isn't fitting and have tried pretty much everything to get it to fit including cutting and re welding the front binge boxes, which improved it but didn't solve it. Thanks! Jim.
  4. Hi all, I was just wondering why some GT6 MK3's have the ignition coils attached to the body and some attached to the engine? Originally I believe they were attached onto the engine but there are mountings on the front of the body for the ignition bracket along with the wiper motor device. I have attached pictures below of my set up before and after repositioning it. is there earthing issues if its attached to the body? I much prefer it attached to the body, but what is best body or engine? and what is original.. Any clarification on this topic would be much appreciated. Regards, Jim.
  5. Hi, I am thinking about underfelting and carpeting my Triumph GT6 MK3 and I wasn't sure what the purpose of 3 holes were in the body panels situated just behind the front seats. I have attached pictures below of the holes - I have placed rubber grommets on them for now as I had no idea what they are there for? Can anyone enlighten me? I want to know what purpose they have before I start to place the under felt on top of them.. Should I remove rubber grommets? Thanks! Jim.
