  1. Hi guys. I’m assuming that the best way to get a grommet around the wiper motor wiring on a GT6 mk3 is to extract the push-ons from out of the multi-plug and slip a grommet over the (much smaller) connectors / wiring rather than the multi-plug, and then to insert the elec conn’s back into the plug. Has anyone done it this way or is there a better way? Picture attached, not my car though, the lower of the two grommets. As always, your help is most appreciated.
  2. I have fitted an aftermarket hazard light switch to my Herald which wires to the indicator feeds, 12v and 0v and interrupts the feed to the normal indicator flasher unit when pulled. When I pull it on the horn sounds! I'm nowhere near the purple earthing wires in the steering column or the permanent feed wires to the horns. WoThFk is going on? Can anyone explain what might be happening?
  3. GT6 mk3. Please will someone post pictures of the loom route from the top of the arch, backwards, to the rear lights. If you have the night dimming relay, that too please. Thanks folks.
  4. Guys thanks lot for helping me sort the wiring. I’ve started stripping out today with the method that a brake one connection and replace it with the new one. Was doing quite well until I came across this component located on the off side near the fuel inlet looks like mr bodge has been here before me ! Component markings are Lucas England. Top II RA on the little round boss. As you can see the wiring is a complete mess with everything going into connectors bypassing the unit so can only presume it’s not working. Is it a night dimmer ? does anyone know : A what is it if not a night dimmer B how do I test if it’s working C where do I get a replacement if it’s not? D how do I wire up the new wiring loom at this point has 2 reds wired together, 2 green purp wired together, 2 blacks wired together, 2 green whites separate, 2 green reds separate and lastly a green purple = 11 wires in total going into 9 connectors with 9 spades on the unit thanks kevin
  5. Hi guys, I have a question regarding the wiring on my 1972 Triumph GT6 MK3, and was wondering if anyone could help clear it up. I had a auto electrician come over a few days ago to help with the wiring who has worked on a GT6 before and couldn't get his head round the wiring set up which links the flamethrower oil to the distributor cap. I have included pictures of my current set up below. The engine turns over but doesn't run, this is due to there being no sparks on the spark plugs which tells me something isn't set up properly on the coil?? I may be wrong but if anyone can give me some advance on the wiring set up or send me pictures of their set up I would really appreciate it. Thanks! Jim.

I am about to embark on fitting a new wiring loom (main and body) from Rimmer bros, the old loom was taken out years ago so no real reference point (though I have the smaller looms such as gearbox and front lights etc) I plan to use the various wiring diagrams, the new looms and a dose of common sense. To that point does anyone have any additional advice for doing this or can you advice if I need any additional wires or connectors than supplied, i.e. earth wires or similar (as I said I have the smaller harnesses for lighting and gearbox etc so should be covered there) and I'm aware I need the various relays and flasher unites etc etc.... Just trying to make this as painless as possible so any advice that can be provided would be very much appreciated Thanks Ben
