Further to posts on hq-open-days-only-if-you-use-face-book  I wrote

"interesting insomuch as I don't use facebook or whatsapp, nor any other social media other than club forums and local group meetings.  Perhaps the simplest way of knowing in advance that something is happening.. is to open up our own topics for let's say a 50 or perhaps 75 mile catchment regions like 'East Midlands, Anglia and Essex' where if you hear of something happening or are simply planning to head out for a drive somewhere, you can copy and post it for all in the region to know.

I think I'll do that and see if anyone joins in.

Pete"

At the moment don't know which I'll attend, that often depends on mindset and weather ..but if others are going, well . . .

If anyone is going to any then please post if you might like to meet up.

If anyone can add further to the list of events & dates, or provide more info, then again please feel free to contribute to this topic.

I'll also like to sometime soon re-visit a Steam Railway museum, a bird of prey centre, and some of the Norfolk-broads their bridges and locks, as I enjoy industrial archeology as well as historic / period festivals.

BOOKED to go  via TR Register, but I could have booked privately here  https://enrolment.engage-powered.com/livepromotions/go/register.aspx

I've booked and I've paid ..and am determined to go despite the forecast of 40% change of precipitation.   Problem with these forecasts is that I don't know if it'll be rain, a heavy downpour for just five minutes or light drizzle for an hour.   Hey ho., stiff upper lip - we're British  ..and driving British !

I'll be tagging along / meeting up with a contingent of Triumphs from Northants, and otherwise hope to see some of you there  ?

On Saturday 4th  there's to be an informal TR (and others) breakfast meet at the Alma,  Copford, Colchester, (nr. Marks Tey) CO6 1BZ  this Saturday, and the weather forecast is for dry.

On Sunday 5th  there's a TR Register (Eastern Region) barbecue (apparently free to members and possibly gate crashers) at The Manger, Bradfield Combust, IP30 0LW, Suffolk, where local groups ; Essex, East Saxons, Suffolk, and Norfolk are having a get together.

On Sunday 5th  ; Sandringham the forecast is 50% chance of wet in the morning, then sunny showers, and then drying up

Tonight - Suffolk TSSC group meeting at the Sorrel Horse Inn & Public House, Norwich Road, Barham, nr. Ipswich, Suffolk, IP6 0PG

The group is a friendly and very informal bunch of lads, conversation is usually good, Triumphs attending are pretty diverse, the pub serves good food at a sensible price, and the weather forecast is good for the evening.

You are invited.

Pete

p.s. I hope to be there 6:45ish to have a meal before standing in the grass car-park chatting the evening away.

^ Katie ~ TR4A, parked up with Rich's white TR4, Bob's TR2 and Tim's black TR6. Chris turned up in his thirsty Covette Stingray a little later.  Good conversation, perfectly acceptable weather for having the top off, and good food and beverages served by our hosts, what more could you ask for.?

and a reminder for those not at work. . .

  • June 9th (Thurs)  Suffolk -  IP31 1AW - Bardwell Village Green - Cars on the Green.    I've bee several times and it's a small and very informal event, where previously I've just pulled up (sometime) in the morning, parked the car on the green and had a pleasant wander around talking with others showing their often interesting family owned classic (..all sorts of classic marque).

Cars on the Green is a daytime event (on a Thursday).  I've just looked but their webpage is devoid of times, and their booking for exhibitors is closed.  http://www.carsonthegreen.org.uk/index.html

I've been along at 10am and things fizzle out either according to the weather or in the late afternoon.

Ten years in and the event seems to have grown in popularity.
