johny
Out of curiosity can anyone tell me where this weight goes on a TR gearbox and what it does?

johny
Thanks. Looks like Triumph had a problem with the TR4 and that was the solution - I suppose it was resolved by other means or later models because I dont think the gearbox was changed much... Pete Lewis
its a pretty std way to help resonance or vibrations ..... add some Mass sometimes found also on clutch withdrawl levers its not just triumphs Pete
Peter Truman
The Jag X type had similar rubber damper hanging off the rear brake caliper!
johny
hmmm I suppose its quite difficult in the car design stage to predict component resonance and if encountered later its too late to change the design so installation of a damper is the only solution available. I wonder how bad it was on the TR4 as its quite a carbuncle they had to fit....
