steveo
Looks like a nice car, never had a turbo, had a few XR3i's, work mate had a RS in the same colour as yours, adjusted the wastegate to get more boost, it was all over the road when the turbo cut in, loads of fun, but only lasted 3 days & went bang! Thanks, Steve, I’d owned RS Turbos continuously from 1988 to 2016. My last one was bought from new and had 12,500 miles on the clock when I sold it. Bitterly regretted that decision and been looking for another ever since. Original, unmolested ones are hard to find. This one has been in hibernation since 1994 and has 24,500 on the clock. I worked for Garrett for 20 years. We always discouraged people from increasing boost as, sooner or later, it would sure go bang. The Hot Hatch was a great era for automotive development. They were very desirable, unfortunately also to thieves. This is how my second car ended it’s life in Jan 91.
Colin Lindsay
Had an XR31 back in 1990, ran it for about a month, hated it! Sorry! Sold it for £200 less than I paid for it. Currently driving a Mundano, no interest in it other than it's very reliable, carries loads of stuff and costs £30 in tax. 'Er Indoors has a 2015 Freelander, used to pull heavy things or go on long drives to the mainland. It goes on a lot of club runs where we have to find some way of letting people know: we're really with them and not just stuck behind them.
