Badwolf Posted August 1, 2022 Report Posted August 1, 2022 I got a thermometer last year. Really useful for many things including taking the temperature of the hot patio flags during the heatwave to make sure that they were safe for the mini wolf to walk on.
cliff.b Posted August 1, 2022 Author Report Posted August 1, 2022 While in LIDL's I noticed they are selling these from Thursday. Been meaning to have a go at this welding lark but is something like this actually worth buying? If not, what should I be looking at for entry level? https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/diy-tools/parkside-inverter-welder/p53632
Badwolf Posted August 1, 2022 Report Posted August 1, 2022 Is an inverter welder used for welding upside down??? I'm off.... 1
Josef Posted August 1, 2022 Report Posted August 1, 2022 I have one of these https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/135te-turbo-mig-welder/ it’s been great. Get a proper gas bottle and regulator too and you’re flying (the disposable bottles last 35seconds and cost an arm and a leg) I don’t even know what sort of welder that Lidl one is. But it doesn’t look like a MIG and you almost certainly want a MIG for DIY car work.

Agree about needing a mig for car work, the Parkside one is an arc welder, also known as a stick welder, the inverter part means the transformer has been replaced with electronics making it lighter.
