brian wesby
On page 5.243V in the GT6 MK 1,2 &3, and vitesse 2ltr. workshop manual, it shows the rear seat squab attached at each side by 2 acme hex/headed screws. In my vehicle there's nothing to screw them into! What's missing?, Please.
Colin Lindsay
This is the seat back? Six poppers across the top, usually rivetted, but down each side it's possible to screw the two side trims to the seats; I bought trims from Newtown Commercial and in the rear face of each there are two screw holes that don't go right through. Just in the card, not the coloured vinyl, and up at the top rear edge. These would allow a screw to go through into the side of the rear seat back, but there's nothing else for them to go into in that area. In the photo of two old trims below you can see, on the black trim, the marks left by the large washers that were used round the screws.
brian wesby
Thanks Colin. Hardly seems worthwhile unless some "u" nuts would be useful.
Colin Lindsay
Quite hard to reach with the hood fitted - I went to photograph them in situ and found it difficult to get near them easily with the hood either up or down. I wonder are they fitted at the factory before the hood is installed?
